Now, without further ado, here's how to mod FF7 Remake on PS4 using Save Wizard(SW) & Kingdom Save Editor(KSE) !
You'll need a flash drive of sufficient capacity,, PC, & PS4, of course. I paid $59.95 for SW, while KSE is free. (Right now, the only game KSE supports are most of the Kingdom Hearts series & FF7R, while SW supports hundreds of games with ready-made codes. Note that it does NOT support multiplayer games such as the Call Of Duty series, & trying to use it for such would likely get one banned by the PS4 server.) Hopefully, your PC & PS4 are close together.
Start on the PS4 by going to "Settings, Application Saved Data Management, Saved Data In System Storage", & delete the data for FF7R. the purpose mof this is to keep your modded data from getting mixed with unmodded data.(You may send it to "Saved data In Online Storage" if you have some saves you wish to keep.) Then, boot up the game & save it, remembering the number of the save window you used. (You may also use an existing save you sent to Online Storage) Then, go back to system data & send the game's data to your flash drive, then, transfer the flash drive to your PC & boot up SW. (There are many YouTube tutorials on how to use SW, So I won't bore you here.) Then, open FF7R to "Advanced" mode & boot up KSE. On SW, in the top left, there's a small window you use to select the number of the save window you used on the PS4. Select it, & watch for changes in the numbers in the main window, which tells you your save is loaded.
In the upper right, there's a small window with several selections icons.(When you put your cursor over them, each one will show its function.) Select "Export File", which should bring up a window of your saved files.(I am using Windows 7.) Your file should now be in the window. Open KSE, go to the upper left"Files" window & click "Open", which should bring up your files list again, & select your saved file & open it. This will bring up the mod window on KSE.
To add items & numbers of items to your inventory, click on an item in the left window of the panel, which will make it appear in the right window.. Here, you may alter the number of that item, within reason, of course. Or, click the "Item Kind" window, which will bting up a list of every item or materia in the game, & you may select any of them ! However, to have the new item, you must have at least 1 item in your original selection, but you may still alter the number you will have in the game.
Items that have only a number for their name aren't recognized by the KSE, and are often "dummies". I haven't experimented with them yet to see what they are, & the KSE has an explanation about those slots, but for now, I use them to obtain other items. (I was able to obtain "Gotterdammerung", one of the best items in the game, usually very hard to get, & only in "Hard" mode this way, in regular mode play !)
Same for materia. You may modify its level & amount of AP. However, it's best to simply set the AP at 99999, which will level up the materia to its max after one battle.
As for "Characters", please check the note at the bottom of the window. A good project for some skilled hackers would be finding a way to make those alterations of stats permanent. But all in all, the KSE is great to obtain any item(s) you wish !
When finished with your mods, be sure to SAVE YOUR FILEfrom the KSE (upper left), close KSE, go to SW, choose "Import File", upper right, choose your file from your list, & click "Open".Again, make sure the SW is still set to your save window number, & watch for some changes in the main panel. You'll notice the "Apply" button won't work, so, go to the top left "0" in the main panel, left-click it once, then, click "0" once on your keyboard, & X out the resulting window. "Apply" should now work; click it. You may now switch to "quick mode" & apply more cheats if you wish. (BTW, SW automatically updates, while you must manually update KSE; no big deal, however! And SW does work with PS4 7.50 update.)
Place the flash drive in the PS4, go again to "Application Saved Data Management" & copy the FD data to "System Storage". Leave the FD in, boot up your mgame save, & enjoy your mods & cheats !
Again, there are many helpful videos on YouTube telling you how to add cheats to SW, as well as thorough tutorials on its use.KSE is very simple to use, & I believe its developer intends to add more games at his time & discretion. I, myself, will try to hack some new cheats, which I'll post in the correct forum.
In the midst of the pandemic shutdown, HAPPY GAMING ! !Last edited by Phil The Hammer; 05-01-2020, 07:42:19 AM.I come from a smart family...In the Civil War, my great-grandpa fought for the WEST.
