MrRichard999 has released an English-language patch for NES Pachinko Daisakusen 1 & 2, found in Romhacking.net. Since this may generate some interest in this game among gamers like I, who doesn't know any Japanese, I did a little hacking on the first game.
Thanx to the work of Rey VGM for hacking the first codes for it, making my hack much-easier.
BTW, while I was in Tokyo with the USN in 1969, there were pachinko games all over. It was the original pinball. I'm told by some Japanese friends it's still immensely popular in Japan. For those not familiar with it, it's an upright board with pins, slots, & compartments in it, firmly anchored so it can't be shaken. the player shoots a ball onto the board with a spring-loaded plunger, much like that of a pinball machine, and hopes the ball will land in a certain slot or groove. the number of balls per game varies from machine to machine, as does the degree of difficulty, possible prizes, etc.
But anyway, back to this NES game. The object is to clear the numerals to "0" where it says 'here'. That's what Rey's codes for "automatic win" do. However, if it doesn't work ion your emu, use FCEU code 613:001 to make the score 00001 & start shooting balls. If it doesn't give you a win, de-activate the code, shoot 1 ball & hope it scores. you might hafta repeat this several times.
When you win, if you used Rey's "Infinite Balls" codes, your score will keep mounting till you de-activate the codes. Below are the codes for "infinite" of each weapon:
Infinite Missiles
0756:63
Infinite Rocket Launchers
0755:63
Infinite hand grenades
0754:63
I shall add the codes to the database.
