  • NES (EUR) Game Genie codes by Cyperium

All codes are for European version of the games, but might also work for other versions. There's a special thread for Super Mario Bros. codes, in this thread I will only post codes for other games.

    Metroid:
ANVIVUPE + AVVINLPE = Take bombs and get every upgrade. Music is silenced though, but will be back to normal after visiting any place that changes the music (like elevator rooms).

    Solomon's Key:
YXNOSPAO - Fill the empty space in a room with a item that gives you 200000 points (the code can be modified to fill the room with any item, beginning from PONOSPAP)

KAGPTO - Start on room 2
XTGPGO - Start on room 16
VTGPLO - Start on room 17
YASPZPLA + ZIKPGOPZ + OPKPIPGA = Start on room 8 with 7 lives and 7 scrollpositions

PEKEUGAA + SXKENGSA = Start on room 2
ZEKEUGAA + SXKENGSA = Start on room 3
LEKEUGAA + SXKENGSA = Start on room 4
GEKEUGAA + SXKENGSA = Start on room 5
PEKEUGAE + SXKENGSA = Start on room 10
LOKEUGAA + SXKENGSA = Start on room 20
IOKEUGAE + SXKENGSA = Start on room 30
YXKEUGAA + SXKENGSA = Start on room 40
YXKEUGAE + SXKENGSA = Start on room 48
AUKEUGAA + SXKENGSA = Start on room 49 "Princess"
PUKEUGAA + SXKENGSA = Start on room 50 "Solomon"

YASPZPLA - Start with 7 lives and 7 scrollpositions
XTSPLOVE - Start with 255 lives (will look as if you have 0 lives but when you die it will show garbage, as is expected with such high numbers)

XVGAVO = The man that beats blocks dies after a while by himself

PEZEVP = Enemies become copies of yourself
PALENA = Jump and you transform into a fairy (that you can't control unfortunately)

AENAEVAA + AENAOVAA = You can jump through solid objects (trying to find a one-line code for this)

NYOUXEYU - Star power lasts much longer (counts down from 255 instead of 99).

Wizards & Warriors (codes that alter the exit point of the blue door at stage 1):

              Notes about these codes:
The blue door that is referred to is the blue door in stage 1, all other blue doors work as usual. It's hard to discern the stages of this game, I haven't counted the part when he falls down the tree in stage 1 as a seperate stage, neither have I counted the same part around the end of the game either.

I have tested the values 01-40 (hex), tried to find some rhime and reason behind the codes so it would be easier to find useful exit points (like the beginning of stage 2, 3, 4, etc.) but they seem too regular to be random and too random to be equation so I don't know what to make of it. In parantesis are the value for the code, I've tried to have them in order (from stages, grey, blue, red, pink door, bonus door/room, boss, and rescue the distressed damsel).

You always get to rescue Lucinda, the first distressed damsel, even if you defeat a different boss.

A couple of codes makes you loose the blue key you had, it is noted if so. All other codes lets you keep the key and everything you collected when you entered the blue door.

Negative values (80 hex and up to FF) seem to transform it into a grey door that can't be entered.

AEOVNKGA - Blue door takes you to the grey door in stage 1, the starting door (00)
AEOVNKGE - Blue door takes you inside the grey door in stage 1 (08)

Tom & Jerry (and Tuffy): The codes work for both European version and US version.

                  UYNKSEKN - Jump higher.
XYNKSEKN - Jump a lot higher (can be hard to jump short).

AVXGEZVA - Hold onto solid roof, you can also jump away from it if you time it correctly, make sure that there is a gap in the roof so that you can drop or jump off.
SZVGGUGK - Can't die, you fly up as a harp playing angel, but then you fall back down again, the number of lives is decreased but still you won't get game over if you loose all your lives. If you drown the game can't continue (as you don't die then either but have no way of returning). When you fall from being the angel you may land on a platform close to the top of the screen, it can be hard on stages where the level goes down (like the chimney stage).
AEXGXLPA - Run faster to the left when you don't jump.
GEUKYZZA - Run faster to the left when you jump.
                  SAKGPOSX - Auto-jump when touching ground (holding A) and auto-fire (holding B).
APNGUKAU - Jump and shoot repeatedly to move through walls.

AAUNYPKY - Press select to scroll through the first 17 items, you have a infinite amount of them too.
PEENSLAA - Start with unused item "jar of jam", he throws a blue hammer, it is lost if you select any other weapon.
ZEENSLAA - Start with unused item "egg", he throws nothing, it is lost if you select any other weapon.
LEENSLAA - Start with bubble looking thing, he throws a hammer, it is lost if you select any other weapon.

YEENSLAA - Start with unused item "fly-swatter", he swings but nothing happens, it is lost if you select any other weapon.

The following codes for Tom & Jerry has only been tested on the European version:
AAUYPPZP - Press select to scroll through different objects, skips original objects (same as the US only code).

OYEXTGKL - Everything keeps on going when you fall down pit.
SAEXIGSZ - Everything keeps on going when you fall down pit (alternate).

AAXZZGZA - You don't die from falling down pit, instead you can jump back up. You do get small though.
EXXIXZEG - Mario jumps higher when he dies (use this with AAXZZGZA to jump higher back up from pit).

                        Solomon's Key:
YAKOOAZA - Door is always opened.
AVZAKZ - Walk through walls, you may also fall down through while you are inside a block in some cases, jumping inside a block causes you to freeze.
SXSAVPAX - Walk through walls if you jump and there's two blocks in a column ahead, you will also fall down through blocks while inside, jumping may cause you to freeze while inside a block.
AAVOSGIA - Break any block with your sword (unbreakable blocks will have a symbol behind them, but you can still create blocks over them).
EPKONXEY - Replace unbreakable grey blocks with breakable.
NYKONXEY - Replace unbreakable grey blocks with breakable, which if you break them produces a 1up (graphics for the 1up is only right on even stages).

                          Castlevania:
ZANUUPAA - Start with the best whip and a bit further in the stage, it will say Stage 40 but it isn't.
AASXUIGE - Walk stairs quicker, if he misses that the stair ends, just walk down a bit and up again.
ZAOOOAIE - Be pushed forward instead of backward by enemies. If you stand still you don't get pushed away.
AVVPUVPG - Don't get pushed back (or forward) by enemies.
AESVZTLA - You don't need to whip the candles to get the item, just walk into them, enemies counts as hearts, bosses as well (which is a bad thing, cause if you don't manage to kill it without getting hit you will have to wait until time runs out).
AVVTTVOG - Enemies can't hit you, things that can drain all your life can still hit you.
AAUTTNPA - Enemies turn away from you when they hit you (also bosses).
TAUTTNPA - Enemies are killed when they hit you (also bosses but it doesn't trigger the ball to complete stage), you still take damage.

ASSYSTEY - Control Belmont in demo (no music, no score, no time-limit for the demo, press Start or Select to go to title screen, you can press Start at the continue screen without going to the title, you can complete stages, I think you can even play to the end).

AEUUXEGA + LEUUSATA - First demo is at stage 01
GEUUXEGA +GEUUSATA - First demo is at stage 04
ZEUUXEGE - First demo is at stage 10
IEUUXEGE + YEUUSATA - First demo is at stage 13
AOUUXEGA + AEUUSATE - First demo is at stage 16
ZOUUXEGA + PEUUSATE - First demo is at stage 18

Note: First code is the stage, second code is the graphics setting, stage 10 has the same graphics as stage 12 where the demo is normally at so the second code wasn't needed.

GAEUVPAA + SZNUKPVA + GANLVPLA - Start on stage 4 (some item graphics are wrong)
YAEUVPAA + SZNUKPVA + IANLVPLA - Start on stage 7 (some item graphics are wrong)
ZAEUVPAE + SZNUKPVA + TANLVPLA - Start on stage 10 (some item graphics are wrong)
IAEUVPAE + SZNUKPVA + YANLVPLA - Start on stage 13 (some item graphics are wrong)
APEUVPAA + SZNUKPVA + AANLVPLE - Start on stage 16 (some item graphics are wrong)
ZPEUVPAA + SZNUKPVA + PANLVPLE - Start on stage 18 (some item graphics are wrong)
ZPNUUPAA + VZNUVOVE + PANLVPLE - Start on stage 18 (some item graphics are wrong) (alternate)

AAOVAKTL - Start hitting enemies even if the whip isn't fully stretched, continually hits enemies and bosses while whip stretches out, often killing even bosses completely with a single strike.

ZANKXPGE - Start with 9 lives
GTNKXPGA - Start with 99 lives

AEEKYVAA - Defeat any boss to view ending.

AEVOKEIP - Can walk past the end of the screen to the left (wraps around to the right).
AEKOVELL - Can walk past the end of the screen to the right (wraps around to the left).

AAVOSAIZ - Scrolling doesn't stop (to the right), use APVOXNAU to go through walls since gates doesn't work. Stages doesn't increase though so scenery doesn't always match.

AVOPUEOZ - Scrolling doesn't stop (both directions), use APVOXNAU to go through walls since gates doesn't work, that also means that stages doesn't increase so scenery doesn't always match.

LLNPGYZU + YUUPLNPK - Wrap around to the top when you fall into pit (not if you jump or get pushed in)

                            Super Mario Bros. 2:
                            SXSEXYSA - Ice isn't slippery
AAVOPPGA - Dig anywhere, unless you are very close to the left side of the block. Space ship might glitch the game.
TAVPLOAP - Dig anywhere, if you are very close on the left side of the block you are digging.

SXOLLSOU - Enemies can't stand on hills.
PXVEVYIE + GEVENNZI - Walk through walls and jump through roof, sometimes you have to enter the bird from the other side to finish the stage.
AVUUNZSZ - Don't get hurt by spikes.

PLVKAYYL + ULVKPNOK - When you die you come to the end, if you press anything you'll get game over.
