Hi, I'm new to GameHacking.org and new to sharing my hacks in general, though I've been doing my own code finding since the SNES Game Genie. I've decided to start sharing mostly because I've been known to lose my own codes after a while, and then when I eventually go to replay a game after a long time, no one else seems to have the codes I want. The big impetus was that I'm busy building a code database for my games for use with a modded PS2 and a ps2rd based cheat device. Many codes don't directly convert, so I'm having to manually convert them. Or even search for alternative places in memory that serve the same effect. For now, I'm just posting PS2 Enable Codes that are useable with ps2rd and its derivatives. In the future I will likely start adding more advanced codes to this thread. Many games on this site already have 90-based enable codes, but most of these are scePadRead or scePad2Read, some are even hooked directly to main. The last is a biiiiig no-no and often results in glitches and/or sporadic behavior. While the pad read hooks are fairly reliable and usually work well, the best hooks are ones to sceSifSendCmd for reasons I won't go into here. I'll just leave it that most of my enable codes will be hooked to sceSifSendCmd, and if that's not available, they'll be hooking to scePadRead. I have yet to come across a game without a hook for either sceSifSendCmd or scePadRead, so any other hooks are not necessary and could even be problem causing.

Since I have OmniConvert, I'll post versions of the PS2 codes for all major PS2 Cheat Devices that support a specific code type used even though the first batch of codes I'm posting are really meant specifically for use with ps2rd engine based devices, I'll likely get into more advanced codes eventually that are not otherwise available. For example, to date, I don't think anyone has ever posted codes for affection levels in any of the Star Ocean Series. With the newer pointer code types it is now possible to generate codes for this, which I have managed to do before, I can always repeat it.

For anyone interested in what tools I used to find my enable codes, check out the psx-scene forums and look up the developer pelvicthrustman. His PS2 Hacking Toolkit is very excellent. I happened to make use of his ELF Extractor to grab the main game executables from the game discs and then his Mastercode Finder to find the codes.

That's all I have for now. That's for every game in my current PS2 library. I'll do others as I expand my PS2 library over time. I'll also post some more advanced codes in this thread at some future point when I get around to finding them again. Right now I'm mostly in the midst of a Final Fantasy run, and what hacking I am doing right now is just to provide me a little change of pace occasionally, and is more focused on the different modding scenes than on the code creation scene since there is very little left to create when it comes to codes for the FF series.
