I mentioned elsewhere that Game Faqs contains info as how to convert NTSC gameshark codes to PAL and vice versa. However, this method only covers addys beginning with 8005(or 3005) and higher. Anyone know howta convert codes beginning with 8004 or lower?

I took care of my friend's "No Random Battles" code problem with FF VII on emulators by telling him how to run PAL games on EPSXE 190 as well as using no$psx or Cheat Engine to find codes on an emulator. I referenced all of you who helped me with the prob and advised him to come here & post his own requests, if I couldn't solve them, that I never knew of anyone getting shot for posting code requests here.

Now, I have a request of my own concerning FF VII...how to prevent, if possible, the removal of a char's materia and accessory at certain points in the game, such as during the escape from Shinra HQ, Cloud's and Tifa's dialogue after they fall into Lifestream on Medeel, or inj the North cave just before confronting Sephiroth. My attempts just turn up the already-existing codes for having materia in the inventory.

Thanx in advance to anyone wishing to give these matters any attention!

most likely it would require some ASM hacking to get those you would have to NOOP the write that happens to those materia addresses

Can you please make inventory mods for Torneko the Last Hope that mod items into torneko's bag instead of placing them in storage?
The codes in the Database mod storage items but not items on hand.Thank you in advance.

                    Hybrid,

do you have Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX: Maximum Remix?

How about a View Modifier code? I would make it myself, but don't know how.

                          Hi Hybrid.

I found your Torneko: The last hope codes and tried to use them to meld a good sword together, but I found that when I changed a leather shield into a surehit sword +17 the surehit ability didn't work and when I tried to meld it at the melding shop with my existing sword it wanted to add the "no rust" and "360 degree spin attack" instead of surehit.

my real question is what might I be doing wrong? and is there a value for each of the weapon and shield special abilities?

what I would like to be able to do is to turn useless items into weapons or shields with atleast one special ability on them so when I get to the melding shop I can add that special ability to my weapon or shield.

it would be really great if you could revisit this Gem of a game and see if you could get this working correctly.

I have tried & tried to find a "No Random Battles" code for PS1 FF VII that works on an emu without glitching the game, but no go. I stared at & copied numbers till I was dizzy for several hours several days. I tried finding the 'normal' state when the chars are walking around with no random battles, as well as the state when a battle is initiated. The codes I found froze the game when a built-in battle, such as with the Scorpion in the first reactor is initiated. Nolberto tried to find such codes, but they glitched also, and he's a 'WAY better hacker than I. (My isos are clean & work perfectly otherwise.)

Also, does anyone know if there are any FF VII "Greatest Hits Version" isos out there?
                            hello
you can try these codes, but you have to convert them to what are you using because i'm not familiar with gameshark etc...

                            no random battles for towns
if value at 800ABB30 is 30820001 then write to 800ABB30 value 3c020000

no random battles for world map
if value at 800B841C is 24430001 then write to 800B841C value 00000000

looking at the wiki i think should look like this

Thanx for the effort, but they wouldn't work on either EPSXE pr PCSXR. However, the codes for the PAL format DO work, so prob partially solved. Again, thanx anyway!

                                hello Phil
I tested the codes in multiple emus, with multiple saves (writing directly to RAM memory by hand), and they are working with the US version
Mind you that the addresses are loaded with multiple values regarding where are you in the game, they have different values when on the map, or in the battle etc
                                That's why they are conditional
Example: you start a new game wait until you can control Cloud, then do the first battle with the two guards that are coming, after the battle when you are back on the map, you modify the value at 800ABB30 from 30820001 to 3c020000 you will notice that there won't be any random battle till the scorpion first boss. After the battle the adress get loaded again with 30820001 and you have to modify it again. That's why it is a conditional cheat.
Don't forget about the endianess so in your memory viewer it will be like this 01008230 and you modify to 0000023c
The same is with the other code, it gets modifed in different part of the game, as long as you modify it by the condition i gave it will work, again don't forget about the endianess
the gameshark codes are not good, because i dont understand the format
If you modify the ram values by hand, they are working, somebody would have to convert them to cheat device codes.

Looking at the wiki again i don't think this can be converted to cheat device code, because you cannot verify 4 bytes at a time
And these being asm codes we need to check for four bytes(length of an instruction on mips) so they remain only for emus in which you can edit manualy ram values

update, it looks i didnt make the codes right the first time, try this

                                1.no random battles for towns
if value at 800ABB30 is 30820001 then write once to 800ABB30 value 3c020000
gameshark code below, this is not ideal but that is all that gameshark can do(at last looking at the wiki)

                                d00abb30 0001
                                800abb30 0000

                                d00abb32 3082
                                800abb32 3c02

2.no random battles for world map
if value at 800B841C is 24430001 then write once to 800B841C value 00000000
gameshark code below, this is not ideal but that is all that gameshark can do(at last looking at the wiki)

                                d00b841c 0001
                                800b841c 0000

                                d00b841e 2443
                                800b841e 0000
