  • Code database question...

    In places like this:

    http://www.gshi.org/?s=v2&m=h&hid=95

Why is there a separate "system" for "official gameshark", and even more puzzling...why are they credited to Sage?
    I may be lazy, but I can...zzzZZZzzzZZZzzzZZZ...

I'm curious about that myself. I wonder who did it?
This reality is mine. Go hallucinate your own.

I believe it was Hiro; he's the one who added all of the 'Official' codes..
Though I've no idea why he labeled them as 'official'... as I didn't know Sage worked for GameShark..

Also, just as an FYI (If you didn't know/remember), the Sage that these codes are credited to is not the same Sage that is in #GSHI, rather a hacker that was in the scene a long time ago.. (All the way back to the VB Daryl, Barubary, Robb, NightMare days)

Here're some links I found while googling some of Sage's codes on this site (They further back my point):
      Frogger 2 (Color) | GSHI
      Frogger 2 (Color) | CMGSCCC
      Frogger 2 (Color) | GSCentral

Ah. I've renamed the "GameBoy: Official Gameshark" system, removing the "Official".

It'd probably be better if the other "official" codes were added to their original systems, with the hacker "Galoob", or whoever made them...

I've started moving games from that system, over to Game Boy...later, we'll have to merge some games together, as I'm guessing we'll end up with a lot of duplicates...

OK, I migrated all the games from that "system" to Game Boy (geh, exhausting, heh). If I don't get to it, would someone go through Game Boy for duplicate games, and merge them?

Hey, take a look at this: http://gshi.org/?s=v2&sys=10&gid=3131

Wasn't "God" one of the nicks NYPD used, after he got banned from GSCCC the first time?

Also, I'm up to Kirby's Pinball Land in Game Boy, checking for duplicates. I'm taking a break. Feel free to do some merging.

Also, systems that have games with 0 codes:

                  Game Gear [Edit: pruned]
                  Genesis [Edit: pruned]
                  SNES [Edit: pruned]
NES [Edit: pruned...and holy fuck, that was gruelling. Though, it would've been considerably worse, were I to do it completely manually]

I've deleted quite a few 0-code games, but damn...there are quite a few. Most of these are probably from our deletion of codes from GSC members who requested to have them removed.

[Edit: They're all removed...as usual, I got overzealous five minutes later, heh]

                      Heh, yeah.

Bleh, I'm too damn lazy to think of a good way to merge the two Kirby's Pinball Land entries in Game Boy...at least without sitting down for like thirty minutes...

I'll take care of it. I know a fast way to do it.

                        [edit]

There, done. Just have to run the recalculation stuff, and it should be fine.

All right, thanks. Also...if your method is fast enough for comfort, would you mind finishing the merging of whatever GB games are duplicates? I think the last one I did was a Mega Man one, so it should be halfway done already...

No problem. Figuring out the duplicates is a bit time consuming though.
