  • Access to the wiki and Gameshark Upgrade CD

Not sure where I should post this; if this is the wrong forum, feel free to move it.

Access to the wiki - I've recently resumed my research on game enhancers for PS1/PS2/DC. I've been looking at the wiki, and I'd like to improve it by adding some version information, as well as additional pictures.
I couldn't find a way to request access to edit the wiki, and although I tried searching the forums, I couldn't find any details or requirements.
What are the requirements to gain access to edit the wiki, and how do I request such access?

Gameshark Upgrade CD - I found this link by luck: http://gamehacking.org/disc and first of all I must say: THANK YOU!!! To whoever uploaded these and to the site for hosting them.
While going through some old purchases, I realized I have one disc that is not mentioned/uploaded in that page: Gameshark Upgrade CD 2.4
Is there any interest in it? I'd gladly provide an image of it along with scan of the disc/insert.

I don't think that specific page is part of the wiki, but I'd like to see the wiki updated tho. I hope someone updates your usergroup so you can update the wiki.

You're welcome, and absolutely. I have been scouring ebay for that image, and Big Wave 1. I believe those are all that's left.

I ripped the images using clonecd. If you want to pm me a link to the image after you get it uploaded, I'll add it to the page. I'd appreciate it, thank you!

Also, since you are a registered user you should be able to edit the wiki as is. Let me know if you encounter any errors or you aren't able to add/edit pages.

Someone else came into chat and said they couldn't edit the wiki either. There must be a problem with new users not being able to edit the wiki. Better look into that.

Also I want that pic as well. I didn't know Rimsky had uploaded those pics somewhere on the site. They belong on the wiki too.

Wait a second, you guys mean image as in cd backup. I thought you guys were posting pictures of the cases. I could use one of those if you guys got a scanner.

Thanks; PM sent with CD image of the disc + scans.

When I browse the wiki, I don't have an option to edit anywhere.
If I create the link manually (ie. http://gamehacking.org/w/index.php?t...29&action=edit), I see the source, but right at the top there's the message:
You do not have permission to edit this page, for the following reason:
The action you have requested is limited to users in the group: Users.

And, if I try to modify something in the source textbox, nothing happens.

Maybe I'm missing something on my end, or maybe I really don't have permissions.

I made some changes that should have fixed this. Try editing again. If it doesn't work, try logging out and in again and try again before reporting back.

Thanks for the link. I added your pics to the wiki. Except for the back of the disc. Might be good to upload to the main site but I don't feel it's needed on the wiki.

@rimsky - Thanks. Tried again; same error message. Logged out, then back in, still the same. I deleted cookies and also tried different browser (Firefox and Chrome), no change.

@MathUser - Yeah, I included all the scans I made; I agree the bottom of the disc may not be useful, but I usually scan it for the inner ring which generally contains version information and maybe another detail.

Which page are you trying to edit? Some pages are protected so only admins can edit them, like the main page.

Honestly, I didn't think of trying another page.
I was trying to edit: http://gamehacking.org/wiki/GameShark_(PlayStation)

                        I'll try with other pages.

Tried to edit other wiki pages with no luck.

Just to make sure I'm doing things right:
I go to the page I want to edit, then click View Source. Is this the appropriate process to edit a wiki page?

This is what your page should look like. Also, rimsky82, what you need to do is either start a new account and try to edit the wiki pages yourself, or use his account and try it then. This back and forth is gonna take forever if you need to twiddle with options and stuff.

Thanks; I don't have the Edit options, either at the top nor within the articles.
