  • Twilight Princess (GC) codes lack annotation regarding where they are meant to be use

Out of curiosity I wanted to test these two codes:

    Field of View [Brandondorf9999]
    04456528 3E000000

    FOV Graphic Fix [Brandondorf9999]
    043A2FD8 00000000
    043A2FEC 00000000
    043A3000 40000000

That are on the DB og GH.org, turns out they zoomed out the camera, I stumbled upon the thread of the creator and they seem to be not entireley working correctly as he is asking for a fix.

I've never understood those kinds of codes either. I just dump them in a MISC folder whenever I see them.

The way that guy talks about the codes, it's hard to tell if he's the creator, or if he just happened upon them, and thought this was the place to get the issues fixed.

I guess somebody just wanted a wider view of Hyrule there. No idea why, and I'm not really shocked that it causes glitches. Isn't Twilight Princess in a third-person view? It's sort of weird to force the camera back to get a wider FOV when it's also going to change your perspective on your character permanently.

The FOV in 3d games is handled by a float. It is usually set to 1.0 (3f800000), 0.5 (3f000000) or 2.0 (40000000). increasing or decreasing this value (this varies from game to game) can increase the FOV.
Weird shadow, fog or ghosting effects are very common. Disabling those with another cheat code could help. There could also be more than one FOV modifier where at least one could probably correctly render the fog-effect.

EDIT: The FOV modifer seems to be a sort of focal length modifier. A lot of 3D animation programs such as like as Cinema 4D allow you to render animations in any focal length. The effect is the exact same
