  • Can an bulk code upload method be implemented?

I was talking to someone here, and that someone mentioned me a hacker that has made over 10,000 Gamecube codes. However, those codes are all in some unknown inactive site that will eventually be lost forever once whoever pays for that server, stops paying for it.

What pains me the most is that the hacker started contributing here, but then stopped. Not because of some feud, but probably (and this is mild speculation) because it's too time consuming adding tons of codes. And I'm saying that's probably the reason because it's not the first time I've heard this complaint. Maybe long time members here don't mind it, but when you're adding 20, 50, 100 codes a day, it can be a real pain.
I know a lot of people are used to posting their codes on forums, and having a site staff painfully add each code to the DB. So once they come here, and have the ability to add their own codes to the database, then they realize it's not a happy task, and could give up eventually. Look at SKiller, he posted all his codes to the forum, he didn't feel like adding it to the DB. If no one adds it, then those codes will be lost eventually.

I know the site is in a process of redesign, so I'm not expecting this to get implemented anytime soon. But what if there was an option where you could bulk upload codes, either by pasting them on a text box or by uploading a text file? Of course, there would have to be a fixed format so that the server recognizes them.

You could add symbols before each entry, like so:

    #Super Mario Bros
    $Infinite Lives
    F087:09
    *note of code
    **modifier of code
    ***master code

Anything more complicated could be just edited in once the codes are added. And of course, a " what-you-see-is-what-you-get preview before posting" option would be necessary to verify everything looks and works fine before it gets added to the DB.

I think with something like that, it would be easier for prolific contributors to upload their stuff in bulk.
