  • Submit button CANCELING code requests?

Every time I try to post a code request, nothing happens. I hit the submit button, and the request looks like it's loading...but doesn't. Nothing changes on the actual code screen. Is Rimsky82 actually BLOCKING code requests or something?

Internet Explorer, not sure about the firewall/antivirus. I'm currently using a station computer at my local Horizons office. (Horizons is an organization which helps people with disabilities seek housing and employment.) Going to try to log a request. I'll let you know if it works or not.

      You...dirty, no-good, low-down, anti-Internet-Explorer HYPOCRITES! Grrrr...

      LOL, just kidding!

Turns out there seems to be a bug which causes code requests to conveniently "disappear" when posted while using Internet Explorer. Requests work on Chrome and Firefox (I use Firefox on my laptop, am currently using Chrome on this PC). Look for a new request for a debug menu on Super Mario Bros. 3Mix (as well as others...heh heh).

You should have known the minute you touched Internet Explorer.

Well, at the time, I felt I had no choice. Had no web access at home (b/c NO ELECTRICITY), so had to resort to using what was available at Horizons (a company which provides various services to and for disabled people). It was either use the often insanely slow Chrome or the often (blatantly) aggravating Internet Explorer. BTW, kudos to Microsoft for FINALLY ditching Internet Explorer! It's about time!

            "insanely slow Chrome"?

That must have been a super weird computer if Chrome ran slower than IE. Chrome is the fastest browser.

Tell that to whatever computer I happen to be using at the time. It seems as if the computer somehow knows it's me using it, and spitefully slows down or otherwise "acts up" in inexplicable ways.

I usually just chalk it up to a phenomenon I refer to as "resistentialist inanimosity". It's a generalized term denoting the often aggravating tendency of supposedly lifeless inanimate objects to seemingly resist our attempts to use/operate them properly.

A common example is the tendency of various wires, cords and cables (often of video-game systems) to somehow find ways to not only become thoroughly tangled up, but to somehow resist being untangled. Or, your cell phone suddenly having no service/reception RIGHT when you're about to send a carefully typed text message...despite living within view of a cell phone tower!

A recent study showed that computers were capable of exhibiting intellectual traits similar to those shown by an average 4-year-old child. How much longer will it take before we'll have to start dealing with computers complaining about not being able to earn college degrees? Hmmm...
