  • Game Genie suggestion.

This thread got me to thinking it would be a good idea for the encrypted box to be checked by default:
    http://krikzz.com/forum/index.php?topic=1679.0

The average code user that's excluding non-GG codes may not know that they need to have the codes shown as encrypted.

I was thinking that when you use the drop-down box to select Game Genie, the Encrypted box would be selected automatically. The end user could always uncheck it if they want.

Whoever designed the site kinda did it to be freindly towards himself. For some reason he also wanted games with no codes to display which is another nuisance. Viper187, now that you are in charge, how about you fix up the site?

Excellent idea Mez. That would make adding codes a little easier.

The site is user-friendly. If Rimsky wanted the site to be "friendly towards himself," the options for displaying the codes wouldn't be customizable. He was also willing to implement useful features based on users' requests. That said, if displaying games with zero codes is such a nuisance, head over to the settings and disable it since you're given that choice.

However, a Game Genie code is ALWAYS encrypted. Therefore, it would make sense to have the encrypted box automatically selected when choosing Game Genie.

I can do that, because you are right, it does make sense. I may not get to it for a bit though, because I'm crazy busy irl for the next 8-10 days.

MathUser, I've put a shit-ton of work into this site to make it customizable, and default settings have changed from time to time because everyone has different opinions. Learn the settings page. It's there because too many people want to see different things, and this way everyone is happy (but not really, never). I designed this site with everyone in mind, but pleasing everyone has proved to be nearly impossible.

The more options you provide, the more people are going to beg.

No one was complaining, when this site and every single other site didn't offer the options Gamehacking has today.
