  • Is there any way to just view RAW emulator format codes?

I don't really use Game Genie codes, so whenever I enter a code page like this one, I immediately would like to filter out all Game Genie codes, since most Genie codes (specially the ones from Galoob) are just nice but ultimately useless codes like "start with 36 lives" or "energy capsules worth 2 instead of 1" and things like that. Also when the databases were merged/absorbed, a LOT of game genie codes (specially on NES/SNES pages) are repeated twice, which makes browsing games with lots of codes very painful.

I initially thought selecting "View format" option would let me see only RAW codes (and remove Genie ones), but apparently what it does is convert all codes to RAW (or whatever format you chose), which still leaves all those useless Genie codes on plain sight. And selecting the hacker filter is not much help because I don't know who of the available hackers made a RAW code, plus I would have to select them one by one.

So basically, my request is, provide an option to filter out Genie codes (or vice versa for people that use Genie codes and not raw emulator ones). Or just make a reverse "hacker filter", instead of selecting the hacker you want to see, you select the hacker you DON'T want to see. Or both options would be even better.

Yes you can, just use the filter bar (above the codes), like this:

Me too i had a similiar issue with Game Boy GameShark and RAW codes.
I'am sure that admins will do something soon.

i second this type of code filter but for the complete opposite reason i play my games using real hardware and i do not have an action replay so those codes are useless to me

I've thought about your request, but I'm having a hard time thinking of a simple way to implement it that I like. The main problem around here, is that people start to complain when the site gets too complicated to navigate. You can see that all over the forum. Plus, I want to add features that will be useful for any system, while this would just target a few as I see it.

As far as the code doubles go, I'm aware of it. I may resurrect one of my scripts that I made awhile ago to get rid of most of them. It can be dangerous though, as we don't want to lose any legitimate codes from our database.

You can use the existing filter to see only Genie codes. While Genie codes can be shown in a raw format, the Genie device does know well enough not to convert a RAM code.
Please put all complaints in writing and submit them here.

Above link not working? Try here.

                I like this idea.
There is one particular Genesis Game Genie hacker who's codes I would like to exclude.
I don't mean any disrespect to him but randomly typing in characters is not the way to make GG codes this day and age.

Yep. I made a point in mentioning that there are people that only use game genie due to playing on the real hardware.

I understand the site might be getting more complicated, but what if you put an option on the user's profile or on the top of the page or somewhere that says "Enable Advanced Options" or something like that. So, if you have that checked, you can see more advanced options like the ones we are looking for.

I would like to exclude anything that says Galoob :P

Maybe it would be easier to add the ability to select multiple hackers in the drop down box. Something like holding the ctrl key and clicking to highlight the hackers who you would like to see codes from.

That would be good most of the time, but what about games that have like 20 hackers? Do you really want to click 19 names just to exclude galoob?
