  • Thinking of purchasing a 3DS Power Saves device...is it worth it?

    Hi all,

Hopefully I'm posting this in the right place...anyway, I'm tempted to buy the new 3DS Power Saves accessory for my 3DS, but before I decide whether I want to cross that bridge or not, I would like to ask a couple of questions about it first, please.

    1) In comparison to an Action Replay, is this device able to give you "infinite" of certain aspects of a game you bought the retail version of (such as health, ammo, coins, rings, etc.), depending on the game to add to any save you use with this device (including any save of your own that you didn't download from the internet)?

    2) When new codes or saves come out (or have come out) for newer 3DS games, do you need to use the internet to update the device with the new stuff?

    Anyway, thanks in advance.

It’s basically a save file manager, with the ability to download and create your own edited game saves with cheat codes attached. So you attach your 3DS games via the device, transfer/backup your save data to PC and modify it to have various beneficial codes applied to it.

Supports a lot of games too, with games like Luigi’s Mansion 2, Mario Kart 7 and Mario & Luigi: Dream Team Bros included along with numerous others. So whatever game you can probably imagine, the system can seemingly create modified saves for it.

It’s a very nifty system from what I can see, although I would have most definitely preferred a more traditional Action Replay system with manually entered codes and other such functionality myself. Either way, you can find the official site (complete with hilariously bad pictures of knockoff Nintendo characters) here:

And you can buy the device here:

      1) No. Unless it is an unlockable feature of the game. But it is no way like an action replay, or even a game genie device either. Or any cheat device. It only alters save files.

      2) Yes. You will probably be able to back up your own saves without the internet, unless that game requires the 3ds ps device to need an update. But obviously to get new saves and updates, you will need the internet.

      Yes, I own one.

        I see...thanks guys.

So yeah, I guess it would be nice to have until an Action Replay is (hopefully eventually) released for the 3DS.

But before I even think of purchasing one, is it possible to view the codes for any of the supported games so far, or would I have to purchase it first? I'm mainly curious to see what stuff can be modified in a save file of Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds for example.
