GSHI's new forum system!

After a recomendation from Ace, we are now using this forum system. I was sick of phpBB, and this seems to work fine. Only noticable problems:

Everybody's avatar type image shows up really big. Don't know what's with that yet.

and...

None of the attachments got imported. Not impossible to fix, at least.

I think it's a good change. I even got a move option. I didnt' know how to do that on the previous board.

hmmm seems good so far, not really saw anything yet, but seems good, I just got here and logged in and all seems to have carried over well, only differenace is well hehe all the whitness...gosh that is a bright white it even hurt my eyes when I first refreashed the board from a few hours ago when it was the olde rPHP thingie. I hit refreash and suddenly after logging on ofcorse, I was ahhhhh my eyes my eyes... yes it was kind of that bright. woo still is.... maybe we can go back to our older more not harming the eyes brightness soon?

EDIT: Well, seem great so far... and yeah only real thing is avatars seem abit big... heck mine is not having a side scroller bar under it : Other then that, sure all will be fissed ortherwise edited in time and such, seems the custome titles did not transfer over, but again as is for sure that all will be fixxed it time, but so far only three things really as I see, the avatars, the custome titles, and the 'brightness'.

Yeah, some new colors and graphics would be nice... Over all though, the new forum is pretty kick ass. Good job, LMZ.

Yes, I agree (again) hehe it is very nice, I am finding new great things here all the time now, love the stars thing and all the other stuff (mostly) otherwise, only issue, not a real problem, just a small tad issue is those three as I said.

Now sigs (small ones even) are starting to strech my screen with one of those scroll bars) That is odd, after each time I post the image does not appear to ever get bigger otherwise, but the scroll bars always appear on things like avatars and even sig images now. (Pretty much saying, nothing I really wish to do, (right now anyway... pretty busy otherwis,e and though I love spam, just a small bit too busy) but just seems if I would go and post say 30 to 40 times, that small BloodRayne image in my sig would have scroll bars on it. (Even with the images filling the whole screen fully, things are kind of starting that scroll bar thing again, and when/after I post a reply the 'bars' get longer and longer each reply. Rather odd kind of....

ah well.... just a note, silly silly me, sorry about this people, it is clear and seems that after I found the 'profile' thing I can change alot, like the 'bright' white colors and such to other options, can even choose my own title.... not sure how that will look 'yet' but will soon see. anyway goodness, now with this black color I can see much better.

Nothing wrong with white, heck white is my favorite color (along with blue) but after comming 'off' a black index page and most pages on the site ehre, this white did and does rather hit the eyes hard....may eyes anyway, I get used to it, but it does take awhile err ummm hehe sorry.... Kind of that thing being in dark where you get used to it all and can 'see' great then you get a flash light to the eyes, that whiteness...and ahhhhhh it hurts and blinds for a while there, it surely does.

EDIT: Well... titles are good, but I would like to say, and 'wonder' on this issue... the whole otherwise 'member rank'...can that maybe please be doen away with or covered or such? I mean I know it is based on post count it seems, but kind of not right, I may say.... phpbb GSHI Landmark is all good and such, but well those like Ace and other returning people... really should not be 'jr. members.... post count or not, the may have been away with life, but been here for a long long time otherwise. Post counts do not bother most people, but then again I am sure we have all seen those message boards where if you been there for years or however long and still have a few posts and replies, the name 'newbie' gets used as an insult alot. (Should not be, but take a look in the odler days of GSCCC boards, GameFAQs boards, even GameShark boards and otherwise 'alot' of boards....again not fussing, just well one of those things, I would think would be better if somehow covered or such...let the stars count or such? again if 'possible' maybe make post counts and those type of jr. member ranks only visible to admins mods or such and only by that user in their profile? Again only if possible, not wishing to be a bother on this, just I ahve seen how post counts can lead to nasty things and how 'some' people can take them to mean the merit of the person in too many cases.

EDIT AGAIN: Ummm sorry.... but just had to say this, seems 'now' that the avatars and all sigs are fitting perfectly not streching the screen at all now, wodnerful no more scroll bars, Thank You.... ummm well I am guessing someone is working on that right and that is why it done this? (or was it the black background/theme option?) I'd still say soemone is working on it, so otherwise as is, Thank You LMZ, Ace, Ugetab...whomever is working on it there.

I fixed the ranks and member group names, at least so they're the same as they were on the phpBB. If somebody else wants to mess with them, go right ahead.

I tried my hand at making the BlackDay theme look more like the regular site. I'm not quite done, but I think it's a bit better than the original BlackDay. If you liked it the way it was, you can change your own theme to get it back.
