Oh you are so proto-hipster (Aka cheater).
I’m asking myself several times what drives some regular user to turn into a cheating machine?, buying hacks and all that paraphernalia to become a successful sore loser.
Let’s take a *Walk* inside a cheaters mind:
Early concept of cheating in those *golden eras* of Sega/Nes where interesting random combos of buttons or GameShark.
Today that concept got heavily corrupted due to the fact that we don’t need to punch some buttons to see through walls or kill someone in a FPS game with hacks.
Bear in mind, I’m not questioning cheating per se, but how a cheater becomes a compulsive one.
Most people do not like to lose, hell who likes to be defeated?:
But one thing is knowing that you suck playing online in BF3/BF4 or COD and go with the flow and enjoy the online experience without ruining it for others.
Even if one gamer manages to wipe your entire squad, you are having fun with your friends or unknown gamers from other parts of the globe.
When you play online, specially FPS games and you stay focused on the *having fun* part and not searching for someone who killed you 9 times in a row. You know your limits and you just keep playing.
Some will rage-quit or just call it day but others, those butt-hurted enough will do ANYTHING to keep winning no matter what.
Sadly, not using their skills but some “cheap hack” to boost their virtual egos.
In that specific moment that the player doesn’t want to give up playing online and keep his/her stats more than ok, will start browsing and searching for more hacks.
So cheating is like gambling?:
Kinda. Many will buy those hacks with Paypal and use them until they get spotted. So in a sense, it’s like gambling.
They make a shady purchase to some shady user (I’m not the one to judge how people spend their money) to keep their “Hack-stack” updated.
Some of these called *Hackers* who just make a simple script and *easy-to-follow* PDF guide. Will do the trick to feed even more, that corrupted player into a world of deceit.
Ergo you are wasting money on hacks, knowing that probably you will get banned and you will lost all you’ve done so far.
Even some will keep wasting money to make another account and keep playing online until they get spotted again and so on.
Just to *FEEL* what’s it’s like to be a PRO for some limited time, until they meet someone even better than them. Will appear and wipe them from the map.
The only one making money with this, *gambling* system is the one selling and the stupid enough to buy those hacks.
Cheaters behavior pattern:
Some get caught in a vicious circle. They will keep doing it no matter what, they don’t care about others. Thus they being in *GOD MODE* they eliminate any element of surprise.
Sometimes (or most of the times) some n00bs will get more and more evident while using hacks online. Not even trying to make some strategy to not get spotted so fast.
That leads me to think most of FPS cheaters are kids but it’s kinda sad someone who asks how to *host a infected MW2 lobby* is a guy or girl in his/her mid-life crisis.
Obviously some of them will do it to troll others.
Many *PRO* gamers already know which are the spots where you get more kills, so that demands too much time spent playing online.
But hey, if you want to better at something. You gotta practice.
Comfy cheaters:
It’s the shortest/fastest way to rank and the shortest way to fail/fall.
They won’t spent so much time to know how game mechanics work, they don’t care about that.
It’s all about screaming like a girl over a mic and swearing like there’s no tomorrow.
COD community is the prime example of swearing kiddos and any kind of insult that you could imagine is there, in YouTube videos.
But people want to blow some steam off from daily routine and they quickly turn into HULK when they got pwned more than 14 times in a row.
They will quickly rise their voice and accuse someone of cheating…when the situation turns quite paradoxical. The one swearing and pointing fingers, is the one using hacks.
So, how cheating online ruins online experience?:
When someone sits in front of his TV, turn on the PS3 or Xbox360 to play online. They want to spent some quality time with their friends for some hours.
If happens that in the same lobby you spot a cheater or several. You are kind forced to quit because the kid won’t stop to yell at others or will keep doing impossible frags.
They ruin online gaming experience because they don’t give a fudge about other gamers.
They ruin what’s cool about playing online versus others. The *thrill* (if you can call it that way) that you don’t know where the others are hiding, etc.
If you give deep thought to this, it’s very primitive.
It’s like playing hide and seek while carrying heavy guns in a virtual area. lol
Modders vs Cheaters:
Let’s not get confused by this. I do LOVE users that mod their games. Thus here in HAX we have some guys who love to do it and when they make a release is mind-blowing.
Too much hardwork and hours spent to make the game look totally different and better.
But if you mod your game, better stay offline.
I will repeat this over and over again, there’s no *safer way to go online* with something already modified.[/quote]
I respect 100% modders but I hate others who won’t lift a finger to make a difference and use some mods or whatever to keep their cheating-libido, fulfilled.
Final words:
It’s a fucking vicious circle. Like everything.
Cheaters get addicted to hacks, get addicted to expend some money on them. To keep them updated, to keep under the radar, avoid detection.
I do not condone online cheating, but when I see one while I’m playing and having fun. I have fun about that guy failing to accept that he/she sucks at that or I just quit after I got stabbed from the sky (lol) several times.
It’s about having fun, my dear proto-hispsters.
Not raging and insulting others.
Just keep it clean, i know it’s too much to ask but if you tried and sucked at something at least you tried. Taking the easy way (hacks) and not the hard way while online gaming.
Well neither of those two are *healthy* enough (true) but if you want to see some progress in your KD ratio for example.
Don’t be a lazy sore loser, just practice.
Sincerely yours.
