While there is no official word on a Sonic project, it looks like Sony Pictures has acquired the film rights to the much-loved video game character.
According to the website Kotaku, Sony have registered website domain names which suggest they might be thinking about taking Sonic to the big screen. The domains they have registered include sonicthehedgehog-movie.com and sonicthehedgehog-movie.net.
Sonic has been the star of several video games since he was unveiled in 1991.
It would be the hedgehog's first big screen outing, although he has previously featured in cartoons.
