Wow, you can't even rip your audio CD's to it. Guess that means it can't read CD's at all, much like Nintendo's systems.

That sucks because sometimes I like hearing MY music over what games come with on the 360.

They're STILL using 5400RPM hard drives. Sickening.

Yeah. I don't expect to be playing much on one anyway. I'm waiting on both systems for now. I'm actually considering importing a PS4 from the UK depending on how things are the first couple months and what I hear about the DVD/BD playback quality/capabilities. I need something to play Region B blu-ray / R2 DVDs, and the games are region free anyway.

Speaking on Giant Bomb's Interview Dumptruck, Sony Worldwide Studios president Shuhei Yoshida explained he was surprised by the intense backlash the company experienced when it was announced the PS4 would launch without MP3 and CD support, as the company underestimated how much people valued the feature.

"The biggest surprise for us all internally at Sony was there are so many people who passionately reacted to our announcement that there's no MP3 support or CD support on day one," he said. "It's not like we actively decided 'let's not do this feature so people will have to subscribe to Music Unlimited. The focus has been more on the game features. Some of the features we wanted but we couldn't get in on day one."

"We didn't really think about MP3 or CD. We thought 'we're going to do that eventually.'... It caught us off-guard.

"People don't really talk about these features, right? Some people get really mad and [say] 'I'll cancel my pre-order!' So as we speak, people in Japan - the system guys - are discussing when we can put these features in."

Because some things don't get released here. I've got a few DVDs that never got released state side, and there are a fair amount of blu-rays that only get released in other countries. Plus, sometimes other countries get better packaging or things. I imported Falling Down from the UK just because I hate digibook shit. I've stuck mostly to stuff I know is region free, but there are some region locked ones I need. The director's cut of Cyborg releases in Germany next month. We won't be getting that state side. The UK release of Cube supposedly looks better than the Canadian release. Missing in Action 3 and Highlander 3 only got BD release in Germany so far. Californication seasons are released on BD in Germany, but we only get fucking DVD here. etc
