Hello there. I just got a short question... do you like tattoos and what do you think of them? Oh,and are there even any traditional tattoos for native americans? I never heard of such so it?s something I still have to learn about. (Dunno tho how many natives are here in that forum but I know at least one is,haha ;-) )

Well, Tattooes are nice, I do not have any yet (still in the thinking process myself, as is, gettign a tattoo is well something that is not easy to 'remove' once it gets put on, well it can be removed but from what I saw it make the skin look like leather and a scar ewwwww so the whole tattoo thing is nice and pretty I do thing, but is indeed something to think good and hard about before you go and do it, again it is meant to 'remain' forever. (well remain while you are alive and such...of corse it does not remain on the skin when you are dead and your skin rots...eww but well not like we would be seeing that of ourselfs anyway....umm anyway.
Again I do like tattos, they are sexy and express alot, not sure what I want or if I will ever get one, but seen alot of nice ones and sexy ones on alot of other people and such.
Now 'some' Christian groups do not like tattoos, but they are crazy... as is, truely, the body, yes our human body is a temple, and in the Bible several times it tells how looking good is expressed, not above all now, but it is expressed, and like any temple, the body the temple for our souls, why should it not be decorated in various ways? Jewelry, rings diamonds, gold, silver, make up even at times nothing is at all wrong with this as long as takened in contex and with that tattoos go there as well. All temple types have all types of decorations, so why not also the temple the human body is as well, so tattoos is very nice as I said again and a true way to express one's self even more then make up and even jewelry I believe.
Now you asked about Native American types, well I am a white girl, European at that, so I am not one as you were asking about, but you have all the answers in front of you, I'd look on the net for the type of Native American you are. I would say well look up your tribal type and name, and see what they have to say on the topic, or otherwise also, I would ask your family. I am sorry, I do not know anything about you, and not well really sure if you have any blood family, or are adopted, so sorry about that, but not stepping on you, just saying, if you do have family that is blood, I would ask them, if not and you are adopted or such, the net and tribal Natice American sites are always there as well.
Now otherwise, again this is in no way anything bad, just what the stuff is called, so no disrespect, but around my area, in North Carolina, there is a type of ink here named (Indian Ink) It should be called Native American ink, well because everyone knows the Native Americans were Native Americans not 'Indians' I mean, we are not as clueless where we are in the world here as Colubus was now. But here the name still stays and sticks, and it is tattoo ink, well 'original tattoo ink, which is what yes the local Native Americans here used to make permanant marks on themselfs back in the day. (and still used today alot ammong the Native Americans) as well as yes other people as well, most anyone who gets a tattoo here, gets it done with what they call here 'Indian Ink'.
Anyway as said, would look into the tribe you are from and what type of Native American you are and find them and I am sure they would have and point you towards more then a few tattoo ideas.
Here around my area, we have the Lumbee Tribe to the west a small bit about 30 miles and the Cherokee (more well known name) in the mountains, and all in all more then that my own last name is even part of a tribe now, when my family first came over, one of my grandfatehr's people went towards the 'Lumbee' area and after awhile married a Lumbee woman, so now part of the whole American Melting pot, though not in me, 'name' wise even I a European Romanian girl is tied to Native Americans now also.

I don't know of any 'traditional' native american tattoos, but I know some natives who have put native american symbols on themselves, dreamcatchers, eagles, feathers, etc.
I doubt I'd ever get a tatoo. I think that stuff looks good when your young, but then your body gets wrinkled up then it don't look good anymore. It may look ridiculous when you're 80. I guess it's up to each person if they want one tho. Alot of my family members have tatoos, many times its just a etching of their name into their arms or wrists.

...I hope this time my font color turns out to be blue but I guess yet again it didn?t work. What I gotta do to make it blue? I just open font color and choose blue and then type along...
However...
Amy,thanks for your interesting input. I?m not native american myself, that?s why I was wondering about that aspect. In fact I?m white and german female.I really liked your ideas about the body as a temple and why not decorating it. Yes,exactly. As well I see my tats as jewelery too, something to decor my body and to add to the whole picture. I already do have three tattoos (all flowers and small ones) but now I will add some more to two of them,as I started to find them too small throughout the years. So finally I will get some more to it,feminine and neat things tho.
Hiro, yeah,I?ve been wondering about this too, what will my tats look like when I?m old...well,guess what, your whole body won?t be so much in shape and wrinkled anyways,so I guess it really doesn?t matter, haha. See,I chose pictures that will suit me even when I?m an old lady. As Amy said, one shall choose the tattoos wise as they will stick to you forever.
I?m very excited tho, tomorrow is the day! I?ll get my long wanted tattoos, yey. I?m a bit scared of the pain tho but I guess all will go well and afterwards I?ll be happy !

Hello Little Owl, I hope all goes well for you, or did go well, being as it is now a few days later, so when you coem back, do tell us how it was, with good results as always.
Otherwise, excuse me for 'thinking' you were a Native American girl, I just thought that because of several reason, but mostly because of you name. But that is no big deal, nothing wrong with being a white German girl. I love being a whilte girl myself anyway heh, so not big deal, anyway, hope all went well and tell us how it is and was, I am sure you will enjoy your new 'body temple' decorations.
