Well, I'm at over 400 Xbox360 games now. A little over $7300 in games. That brings my average cost per game to $18. That'll go to shit next month with my $150 CE of GTA5 and some $20-$30 out of print stuff I intend to pick up. I've got 3 more titles on order too. I think I've bought about 15 games from the Microsoft store $10-$15 deals this month.

I'm torn as to how to proceed now. There are still a ton of older titles I want and the shit keeps going up as it goes OOP. I think I'm going to have to ignore anything NOT likely to go out of print (most AAA type titles) dropping to $20 this holiday season and expect to see them at the same price next year. Then only pickup whatever the MS store and others run under $15 new, maybe a few BS titles that are likely to go OOP fast at $20ish, and worry about older games. Hard to know what will go OOP first any more though.

How do you guys with large collections store them all? I've been wanting to find those wooden drawers like rental places use forever, but I've never had luck finding a drawer unit the right size for DVD cases. The metal ones are stupid expensive and not even stainless, so I'd rather have something that's just composite (like the Sauder cabinets I use now).

    Complete list with costs

IKEA has bookcases that can store a collection like that. They are a pain in the ass to put together, though.

I never saw the point of displaying things on bookshelves. Shit just gets dusty.

        Showoff.

I wish I had that many games, not 360 though. More classic Nintendo & SEGA.

Get a modchip on that bad boy an play your games and other hard to find games off a HDD unless your anal about having the physical disc. Once these systems go to the last gen some games can be expensive or hard to find down the road and I really don't care if I own the retail disc or a bootleg as long as I can play the game.

I would rather own the retail cart/disc, just got retail copy of Sonic CD yesterday. For some reason though the MD5 is different from the redump version on the net, no read errors either.

Speaking of expensive, Nintendo games are about the only ones that stay high-priced. MS' games drop price very quickly.

They drop decent, but once they go out of print, assholes ask obscene prices and it pisses me off. I still remember seeing Monopoly listed at $100 for a sealed copy. That fuckin TMNT game was like $50 used and $100+ new.

I sold a Sega CD game a few weeks ago for $230 on ebay it was a game called Snatcher. So as things become hard to get or become somehow a collectible price goes up and this game has sold for upwards of $300-$400+ so I didn't sell it for as high as some people.

I chatted with you a little bit about this over AIM, but I'm slowly trying to get back into gaming. I recently purchased a used 3DS for $40 and I want to start building a collection for it. If anyone is selling any games for this or any other current generation console that I might look into buying (used is fine as long as it's in the original case) for cheap, send me a message on MSN or AIM.

Edit: To stay on topic, here's my "collection" (not really a collection) so far:

I plan on getting Mario Kart 7, The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Sonic Generations, etc.
I only bother with things that interest me.
