DuckTales Remastered Golden Nintendo NES Cartridge

    By Cauterize

It wasn't as if Nintendo NES fanatics needed yet another item to add to their expansive collection, however, the upcoming release of DuckTales Remastered on modern consoles has just introduced another desirable cartridge up for the taking. The press release kit of this new title happens to feature a limited edition gold cartridge harbouring Capcom's classic platformer - and one soon to be the epicentre of a flurry of bids.

Gameinformer recently posted about this press release kit which Capcom has been providing to journalists around the world, showcasing its stunning contents which are set to make any Nintendo NES collector drool. Featuring an all new label sporting updated artwork affixed onto a golden cartridge, this limited edition copy of DuckTales does indeed contain the original game and works on the classic console too.

Sadly though, for just about all of us reading (and writing this), we'll have to accept the fact that Scrooge McDuck's newest treasure is unlikely to pass through our hands any time soon. While we expect several of these to slowly make their way onto eBay, we wouldn't be surprised if they ended up fetching four figure sums with furious bidding wars to accompany them.

That said, there is nothing to say Capcom won't consider releasing this limited edition at retail.

Ahh, DuckTales, probably my favorite NES game (that was not developed by Nintendo).

From my understanding, the ROM is the same. The only different stuff is the gold cartridge and the artwork.

If that's the case then it's no big deal since it's the same game made to look pretty.

Same thing with the first Legend of Zelda for the NES. And same thing with those Gold Nintendo World Championship cartridges.
