  • I AM PISSED!!! I am no longer using Google as my search engine!

The primary reason why I used Google as my search engine is because of my favorite feature "Instant Previews". But now Google has chose to remove that feature. Google was the only search engine that I know of that had "Instant Previews". That feature was a time saver, but most of all, it helped me to avoid clicking on website links that were dodgy and/or not useful. It probably also saved me from being infected with malware a few times. I am seriously pissed. Google's reason for removing the feature was because:

As we’ve streamlined the results page, we’ve had to remove certain features, such as Instant Previews.

Instant previews saw very low usage by our users, and we’ve decided to focus on streamlining the page to benefit more users.

But the real reason Google removed it is probably because of the following reason. This member summed it up perfectly:

Obviously, someone at Google with a heart for the consumer invented this useful tool. It looks like he/she was fired, or overruled by the new Google, Inc. management crowd, which places income above all else. They caused the little carrot icon to become harder and harder to see, thereby reducing usage. It was then easy to accommodate the advertisers who were griping about pages not being viewed in full. Google simply axed the feature. It's as simple (and disgusting) as that.
I am now going to stop using Google and switch to a different search engine... possibly Bing, unless I find some other search engine that has an Instant Preview feature.

Does anyone know of a search engine that has an Instant Preview feature?

If there are no search engines that have an Instant Preview feature, then do any of you have any suggestions of what other search engine I should use?

I didn't even know that they done that, man that sucks. Bing usually gets more search results than Google, only reason to use Google would be for YT or Gmail, it's your choice man. I recommend using Bing, but they're may be more than we know out there.

If there isn't already, I bet an add-on will be made for Firefox to accomplish this.
Especially now since Google has remove the feature.

I found this Firefox Add-on. It works for Google, Bing, and Yahoo!. It's a little bit different than Instant Preview, but it gets the job done. Some may like it more than Instant Preview.:

        SearchPreview - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fir...searchpreview/

Since this Add-on works in Bing, I am going to drop Google and switch to Bing. Google just lost me as a user. They pissed me off. Google could have at least made that feature an option where the user could turn it on or off. But no, they chose to remove it completely without the courtesy of even notifying users. It seems like every good company always winds up succumbing to greed and their products eventually suffer, which results in the end-user suffering. Google's tactics seem to be going downhill fast... with the whole tracking members fiasco and now this... smh. The member who's response I quoted hit the nail on the head... especially the "disgusting" part.

Thanks, just added it to Firefox. Even better than Scroogle.

I also found this Add-On. I haven't tried it out but it's more advanced with more features than the latter. I read some of the reviews and some people thought it was a little bloated, but others love it.

I started to use the Search preview but I notice it loads its own ads in the top of the results, which isn't major but I hate anything posting ads on my searches.
              Spoiler Alert! Click to view...

@ helder, I don't see any ads on my end. That may be because I have Adblock Plus and NoScript installed. But I believe I have a solution to your problem... If you go into SearchPreview's options and uncheck "Insert sponsored links to help keep SearchPreview free", that should fix your problem and no ads should be present.
