Now broadcasting from the underground command post. Deep in the bowels of a hidden bunker. Somewhere under the brick & steel of a nondescript building. We've once again made contact w/ our leader, OSG

I knew it was coming since my recent tiny source contribution. Good to see they didn't sit on their hands for too long after discussing the release in irc.

Good to hear the guys released a new version of FCEUXD. That was my favorite NES emulator.

I really like the new FCEUX version, especially option for black and white mode. The new version is welcome especially after lots of issues in previous version - 2.1.5.

They didn't. FCEU XD is an older derivative/branch. FCEU XD is dead and it hasn't had an update in about 8 years.

                FCEUX
is the newest branch and version that has combined nearly all the features from all the existing branches of the FCE emulator.

Woah, I did not know this. For some reason I was reading it as FCEUXD. So this ancient emulator has been ressurected then. Interesting.

The last time FCEUX had an official release was June 21, 2011... so that's about a year and a half ago. During that year and a half, there have been literally hundreds of SVN builds without having an official release. For whatever reason, unlike most other emulators, they chose to wait to have an official updated release.

The last time FCEU XD had an official release was about 8 years ago because FCEU XD is dead. FCEUX is the branch that is alive.

Some developers choose to wait and release stable builds, mostly because of the amount of whiners that whine about every bug and slight incompatibility. A year and a half is not that long, and having interim builds is a privilege not owed to anybody. I'm happy there is still development on this great emulator, even if most of it is for the benefit of the TAS community.

Well, it's good that they are alive and all and incorperated the features of XD. I loved XD.
