And if they want to get counter-preemptive ... the might as well as start with me. Because if there's one thing I don't like waking up to, it's a banning spree. You can imagine my surprise an hour ago when reading a thread in the OPL forums the "Banned" title under bfoos's name. Wondering what the hell happened, I went looking around and information was scarce (par for the course, I guess), so I naturally headed here. Found this thread, and surprise turned to anger. So if they're looking to ban me -- under counter-preemptive measures -- I wonder if they'd like a little help in that regard?
The following is how I "insult mods and devs" by not naming them at all ...
And how bfoos responds to such *ahem* truth-mongering ...
Since that PM, I had to break down and install Google Chrome just to make any progress over there. Navigating the forum with Firefox is a nightmare of "connection reset" and refreshes. Since Chrome caches often-viewed pages in the background, I could catch up on posts within 10 to 15 minutes without a single "connection reset" as opposed to an hour or two. But that doesn't change the fact that there's been a mosaic/tapestry of just plain ol' assholery that's been pushing my buttons like a meth-dealer workin' straight commission. And this recent banning spree is just more of the same ...
I have zero intention of giving Rand or the other mods and devs there a hard time ... provided they don't give me a hard time as soon I click "Reply" here, and they eventually read this post. Which I hope does two things: (1) puts me on record that I can't stand what they doing, and what they have done and (2) makes them think twice over asking me to help with any damage control. Because a good way to insult and piss me off even further is to get a PM that more or less says, "Wanna be a mod, Bat?" because the banning spree has made 'em desperate for damage control and parakeets. Such a PM has not come, and I hope this post makes sure it never does. Judging from the way they treated LMZ, Bootlegninja, and bfoos, I expect similar treatment in the form of "you've been banned" within the next 72 hours or so ...
Lastly, about the secrecy stuff: there's no excuse for it. None whatsoever. Capcom's lawyers didn't scare Steven Frew and I when we put "Slutte!" (i.e. Bionic Commando emu) though its paces, nor when he suspended development to write the MAME driver (which included sound without a performance hit on AMD processors). To make matters more interesting, Frew had given my email address to Steve Snake, and the next thing I know, I'm testing both Slutte! and KGEN at the same time. And if you think Sega's lawyers scared us, you might want to re-read your history - Sega hired Steve Snake back because of his work. That man's passion for the Z80 borders on OCD, I kid you not. I had a blast uploading sound files to him, and he had blast bitching about both my ungodly long e-mail address from my ISP (read: public library) and his Z80 code. And that's what it boils down to: passion. When you've got a passion for something and love the work you do, nothing scares you. PS2DEV used to have that same passion. Now it's like hearing "Mr. Roboto" by Styx on endless loop. Everybody's got a god damned secret.
Irony check: when asked when a Styx reunion with Dennis DeYoung would happen, James JY Young said, "when we're all playing ice hockey on the River Styx."
That answer sounds familiar, doesn't it?
"I'm scared of Sony's laywers!" = you're gonna freeze solid waiting. Just like Dist in Ketterberg ...

Truth be told: a "hot dicking" is an understatement. QJ treated this place like a cheap whore. Banged her like a shithouse door in a gale, flipped her over, plucked out an eye, and proceeded to dry-fuck the socket. Look too close, and you'll even see stretch marks behind the ears. And since I seen it happen so many times since 1998-ish (read: I've used more pseudonyms than the WWE's Brookyln Brawler and not because of Sony's lawyers) that I developed my love/hate on-again-off-again relationship with the emu/homebrew community a long time ago. Man, did I came late to the party here! Xianaix sold the joint less than 6 months after I joined, and the only thing more sad than how QJ ruined this place is the suspicion that either their ISP consists of two Folgers cans and a lot of fuckin' rope, or Kim Dot Com's long lost fugly cousin' is leeching pr0n and WoWing it up on the same server that hosts PSX-Scene's forums ...
Jesus H, it took 5 refreshes just to send you this rant *cough* I mean PM ...
