  • Ex-Galoob employees still making cheat codes...

Does anyone know of any ex-Galoob employees that are still around making cheat codes? There had to had been a handful of cheat code hackers working for Galoob that produced all those Game Genie codes. So I'm wondering if any of them are still involved in someway with making cheat codes for game systems. Have any of them ever joined a cheat code hacking forum/website like this site?

These cheat code hackers were some of the first video game cheat code hackers that existed. They were the first people to make cheat codes for a game system, right?

It's ok to wish anyway. They weren't really doing anything that the community can make tho. I can't remember any game Genie codes officially made that the community couldn't make.

And more people will be able to enjoy your codes too. Remember, everyone can use Game Genie codes unlike hex codes that can only be used in emulators.

I'm just surprised that none of them have been heard from. You would think that some of them would continue to have an interest in video game cheat hacking.

OldSchoolGamer, if I can make a list of Game Genie Codes for Gemfire (Sega Genesis), I will earn a honor in this forum.

I hope you know that HEX intal for Hexadecimal
Both Game Genie (ROM) codes and PAR (RAM) Codes are using Hex Value.

I must have used the wrong terminology then. Whatever it is called when a code is not converted to Game Genie format. Such as these type of codes: http://gamehacking.org/?s=v2&sys=5&gid=5616

The word you are looking for is "RAM".
I only bother with things that interest me.

After Galoob discontinued Game Genie Brand, Game Genie staff left the company and went pursue their own interests.

Mostly them would be in their 60s by now.

you would need an Action Replay (PAR) for NES or NES Emulator to use RAM codes

I thought Codemasters in the UK made all the GG codes, Galoob was the distributor in the US and Hornby was the distributor in the UK. I remember seeing a Codemasters job advert in the early 1990s for people who could hack cheats for the 6502/6510 CPU - if the advert was a year or so earlier I might have applied for it myself.

No they were not by a long chalk, the Game Genie was created in 1990...cheat codes (pokes) were being made on the Commodore 64 and Spectrum in 1984 or earlier.

If Galoob staff actually made the codes they would have to be in their 40s in the 1992 to be in their 60s now - that's unlikely, it was a young man's game. Most cheat code creators would be in their teens or twenties in 1992 so would still be in their 40s.
