  • Help compiling Bsnes Performance Profile

The most current version of Bsnes is version 0.87. Unfortunately, the author (byuu) no longer compiles his binary releases to include the "Performance Profile" core. But he said the user could compile it themselves if they want to continue to use the "Performance Profile" core of Bsnes. I do not know how to compile source codes. I have searched the internet vigorously for a current version of Bsnes that has the "Performance Profile" core. The latest version I have found that has it was "Bsnes 0.74 Binary (Windows 32-bit) [Performance Profile]".

Does anyone know where I can find "Bsnes 0.87 Binary (Windows 32-bit) [Performance Profile]"?

If not, then atleast a version that is more current than 0.74.

    Here you go.

To do it yourself when the next version comes out, follow this guide-
    http://byuu.org/bsnes/compilation-guide

You'll have to edit the Makefile to say "profile := performance" on line 6.

I downloaded that file and after unzipping it, I clicked on the application "bsnes_v087-perf" and it says it's not a valid win32 application. Are you sure you compiled it to work on a windows xp 32-bit system?

It says it's an invalid win32 application. I don't know why it's saying that. But instead of sending the "bsnes_v087-perf" application, could you just attach the following files as a zip file the same way how the official bsnes website has it available? It's a zip file that has the following files & folders:

          bsnes.exe
          cheats.xml
          snespurify.exe
          filters folder (filters inside)
          shaders folder (shaders inside)

I assume that application you sent was supposed to extract/install itself after double clicking on it. But unfortunately, it is not working when I try to open it because it says it's an invalid win32 application.

Actually, I think you could just attach the Bsnes.exe file if you don't want to include the rest of the files. Because I assume I could just use the other files (cheats.xml, snespurifty, shaders folder, filters folder) from the download offered on it's website.

I's just the executable, not an extracting archive. It must have compiled as x64.

That could have been it since it was on a win7 x64 mavhine I tested it on.
