For years now, I've been interested in making instrumentals. I never acted on my desire to pursue it as a hobby or a career (I made a choice between graphic design/artist, musician and computers), but as of late, I've been drifting back into that zone. When I'm listening to a song sometimes, I catch myself phasing out the lyrics and examining the structure of the beat. While this process is going on, I'm remixing it in my head. The outcome sounds great in my head, but the hard part is making it a reality to hear over and over (I don't think some of the crazy sounds I add into it exist).
So, I've been looking around at what different producers use to learn a new skill. I have not downloaded any programs yet, but I've been fiddling around on a site called Drumbot. Nothing worth hearing made yet, but it is a good learning experience so far.
