"Vega" from Street Fighter series is inspired by the movies...

"Vega" from Street Fighter series seems to be inspired by two of the biggest cult classics of the horror movie genre... "Friday the 13th" and "Nightmare on Elm Street"

Vega wears a mask just like Jason from Friday the 13th. And he also has a claw type hand just like Freddy Krueger from Nightmare on Elm Street.

I'm sure the developers of the game and character have never admitted to this and/or denied it, but it seems very likely and too much of a coincidence. Just like Splatterhouse character was inspired by Jason from Friday the 13th.
