PSO PC is an attention whore. If it loses focus at all, such as from a prescheduled virus scan activating, it will crash. Perhaps this was some attempt to prevent cheating and if so it might have been a good thing. Unfortunately the dumbasses decided to only save the game upon a proper exit ensuring that if something DOES steal focus a large amount of progress is lost. Then they decide to make Ctrl one of the few keys actually used, which resides right beside the Windows key which they didn't bother to deactivate. So my progress just got rewound about 2 hours from ONE FUCKING KEYSTROKE!

After some Googling I found out how to disable the Windows key. If you would like to do the same add a REG_BINARY named "Scancode Map" to "My Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlS et\Control\Keboard Layout" with a value of "00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 03 00 00 00 00 00 5B E0 00 00 5C E0 00 00 00 00".
The great thing is CTRL+ESC still works. So when I want the effect of the Windows key it's available but in a manner that is near impossible to accidently activate.

That's a very useful thing to know. I've hit that key too many times, and all of them were by accident and annoying when it happened. That is one problem with even the dreamcast version of PSO. Damn thing doesn't actually save unless you've properly quit... Not that it bothers me now that my dreamcast has been dead for awhile...
