  • (NES) Double Dribble breaking the backboard... Fact or Fiction?

I've read that there is a way to break the backboard in (NES) Double Dribble. Is this true? Because I haven't been able to do it yet. Here is how you allegedly can do it:

Select Chicago as your team, then approach your opponent's foul line. Press
START, A, B, A, B, then quickly unpause, and pause again. Repeat the process
once more, unpause, then quickly dunk the ball to shatter the backboard.

Now broadcasting from the underground command post. Deep in the bowels of a hidden bunker. Somewhere under the brick & steel of a nondescript building. We've once again made contact w/ our leader, OSG

I would say no. Seems it's been discussed already here. I'm sure there would be at least one youtube video of it in action if it were true. Remember the NES was during an age when there was no internet, and many rumors were made for several games. I'd say a low percentage of them actually turned out to be true. Just goes to show you how many cheat sites will list anything to get more hits.
Not taking any requests at this time.

Bored? Watch some of my hacks here.

That's so pathetic that sites will list cheats that don't work just so they can get more hits. This is also the case with the fake (NES) Kung Fu cheat, where if you complete the game 50 times, a secret match against Sylvia would replace Mr. X
