  • Does anyone know of a list of the Top/Best NES games of all-time?

    Does anyone know of a website which has a list/ranking of the best NES games of all time? I've already read the lists from IGN, Sydlexia, Retro-sanctuary, Racketboy, 1up, and Listal.

    I am interested in reading some more lists/rankings of the best NES games. I am trying to discover some good NES games that I never knew about.

    I would prefer to read a Top # list that has screen shots of each NES game. I don't really like reading lists that don't have a screen shot of the games.

    I wish there was a website for NES games like the website MAWS.com for arcade games. Also, I wish there was a front end for a NES emulator just like there is for the arcade emulator MAMEUI, where you can see screen shots of the games and read the history of the game.

          yea thats not really what I was looking for. I enjoy reading a websites Top 100 NES games where there is a screen shot of the game and a paragraph explaining about the game and why it deserves to be in the Top # list. I've discovered some pretty cool games by reading stuff like that.

            Check this out: http://www.racketboy.com/

            The Hidden Gems section is where you want to go from there. The article are fairly entertaining, and they delve into games that went under many gamers' radars for years.

              Yea I read all those lists from that website. I forgot to include that website as one of the websites I already read. I enjoyed reading those articles from that website. I found a bunch of good games from reading them. These are the articles/lists that I read already: IGN, Sydlexia, Retro-sanctuary, Racketboy, 1up, and Listal

              Do you know of any other websites?

                The best thing you can do is ask people to name their favorite NES games, but to leave out the the usual stuff such as Mario, Megaman, Double Dragon, etc.

                That way they'll name other good and unknown favorite games.

                  I believe I made a thread like that when I first joined this site and I didn't get much response. I think I remember asking what were people's favorite gem (great unknown game) for the NES but there was barely any response. I will try again and make a thread asking that question.

                    • Contra - specifically original Contra Game;
                    • Dr. Mario;
