One thing I found out about the Retron 3: The PAR for Sega Genesis will work & allow you to enter codes for a game that you want to play, but it will not allow you to use the built-in trainer (unless I'm doing it wrong). When I hit the reset button, the screen just goes black.

              3. Game Genie for Game Boy (had to modify it with a pair of toe nail clippers to make it fit the Super Game Boy.)
BigBossman, how did you learn how to do that? Is doing something like that possible with a SNES game genie to get some games that don't work on it to work? I have version 1.0 I believe which does not work with alot of games such as the Star Wars, Donkey Kong Countries, Super Mario Kart, NBA JAM TE etc.

nail clippers will not magically turn your v1.0 snes genie into a v2 genie.
Please put all complaints in writing and submit them here.

Above link not working? Try here.

I didn't really learn. I modified the Game Genie not really knowing if it would actually work. But to my amazement, it did. I just looked to see how it fits into the Super Gameboy. After that, I noticed that there was a thin area that normally goes around the original Gameboy. I just used the toenail clippers to cut that area away little by little. After I wittled enough of the plastic away, I managed to get it to fit. The crazy thing is that the Game Genie has to go into the Super Gameboy backwards. If the Game Genie is facing you, then you've got it inserted wrong. One thing to note: if you have a pair that you normally use to clip your toe nails with, [B]don't use them[B]. Instead, go to the dollar store & buy two pair in case you break on of them (like I did with my main pair). You might also need a pocket knife to wittle the edges down to get a secure fit. The next time I borrow the digital camera, I'll take a few pictures & try to post them.

That's cool how you were able to do that BigBossman. I read elsewhere other people doing similiar things like that.

I got tired of having very little luck randomly entering codes for the SNES Game Genie, so I did some searching on Ebay & found a PAR MK2 reasonably priced. There was a listing on the UK Ebay site that was selling both a MK1 & MK2 PAR, but they were wanting $60.00+ USD for them & that's not including the shipping & handling which would cost me around $17.00 or more. I went to the French Ebay site & found one listed for $26.00 USD. After tacking on the shipping, it ended up becoming about $37.00. That is more manageable. The only downside is that I will only get the cart itself & not the box like with the 1st listing.

Hopefully, before too long I'll be able to start spouting out some SNES codes too. I've got games that I'm dying to do some serious hacking with.

I just scored a SNES with a handful of games, a massively dirty controller, & A/V cables off of Craigslist. There was no AC Adaptor, but I managed to use someone else's to test it. I only paid $30.00.

The SNES games I scored are:
                          Tuff E Nuff
                          Final Fight
                          King of the Monsters
                          Paperboy 2
                          Alien Vs. Predator
                          Mortal Kombat 3

I bought it in case I can't properly hack SNES games (on my Retron 3) with my PAR2 that's supposed to be coming in. The downside is now I have to place an order for an AC adaptor. I've been noticing that most of the ones on Ebay & Amazon are DC9V. I've also heard that the DC10V is supposed to be used because the DC9V is known for getting extremely hot when plugged in.

I played Alien Vs. Predator for the first time & that was pretty cool.

I forgot about how Nintendo totally censored Final Fight. They changed to women with short skirts to guys wearing tight pants & they completely left out Guy, who was supposed to be a 3rd character in the game. I also hate how you have to start the stage all over when you continue. If I'm not mistaken, in the arcade you'd start right back where you died.
