  • Why is Contra Force running slow on Nestopia?

Why is Contra Force running slow on Nestopia? This is the only game I ever seen Nestopia run slow on. Why is this? Is there a way to fix or tweak Nestopia to make Contra Force run smoothly/normally instead of choppy and slow? If there is no way of fixing or tweaking Nestopia to fix this problem with Contra Force, is there a different emulator that runs Contra Force smoothly? After doing some research, it seems people overwhelmingly agree that Nestopia is the best NES emulator to play NES games. But if a different emulator can run Contra Force smoothly, I can always use that emulator as a backup. So someone please let me know what's up regarding this. Thanks.

Now broadcasting from the underground command post. Deep in the bowels of a hidden bunker. Somewhere under the brick & steel of a nondescript building. We've once again made contact w/ our leader, OSG

Contra Force is slow, period. It has nothing to do with the emulator. That's probably the NES game with the most slowdown ever.

Is it possible for someone to make a hack/patch/code in which makes the game run smoothly/normally instead of choppy and slow? I'm not asking for someone to do it, I'm just asking if it is possible for it to be done?

This was annoying me as well. Was the game on real hardware this slow? I don't have this game to test it, though I do want it and Super C. I'd imagine if an emulator did not limit the cpu power to that of the NES for accuracy, it would run more smoothly. I don't know which emulators allow this.

            Yes, I believe so.
