  • Trouble saving state on Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island for Zsnes

I'm having trouble saving my game of Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island on Zsnes. When I click to save state, nothing happens and it doesn't save a state. Does anyone know how to save it? Is there another way of saving the game instead of saving it by saving state. Do emulators have the capability of saving a game the way a real console would save the game?

Check your directories and make sure they are going to the correct folders, and all emulators have save ram that act as a save in games that have a save feature like RPGs but you again need to configure the directories. Also double check you are pressing the correct keys to save state and load.

F2 saves a state, F4 loads the save, F3 opens the save selector. If it isn't saving the game, then you probably deleted or moved the folder/directory you have set as your save state folder.

Just delete the zsnes.cfg or zsnes.ini to reset all the options to default.

I suggest you use SNES9X though. ZSNES is too ancient and still has remnants of its DOS days. SNES9X is a true windows emulator with many more options and accessibility. Plus, better compatibility.

Download here the latest version of the emulator:

Emulator Zone says ZSNES is the best, hands down. I never had any problems with it thus far. But I'll try SNES9X.

          Emulator Zone? Psshh...

Take from someone that has been using both emulators for over 12 years. SNES9X is the best one. Use the version I posted on top. ZSNES hasn't been updated in like 5 years. SNES9X is updated periodically.
