SWIM has latest version of MAME downloaded from emulator zone. Simpsons Arcade game won't work. The Zipped Simpson file is in the ROM folder and is not unzipped like it's supposed to be. But when MAME is run and Simpsons is clicked on to play, an error message says "selected game is missing one of more required ROM or CHD Images". SWIM tried downloading MAME from the MAME official website and still it doesn't work. Can anyone help him?

MAME as far as I know ONLY loads zipped roms, if its missing a rom file you need the other simpsons roms to be in the same folder, many times one version of a rom is dependent on another to load.Spoiler Alert! Click to view...

Likely is that you/they have an old version of the ROM, MAME frequently updates it's ROMs with confirmed better dumps or possibly the ROM you have is for one of the clones which used to be the parent set and is now a clone.
Try one of the simpsons clones and see if that works:-
