  • Emulator Settings for my NES, SNES, & Genesis...

    Should I allow Filters?
    Should I enable Bilinear Interpolation?
    Should I enable VSync?
    Should I enable Perfect Sync?
    Should I enable High Priority?
Should I have a Sprite limit?
Should Memory Pool settings be Video or System?

For now, you should stick with default settings. You can try the various options out later, but you'll probably find you never need them.

      No
      No
Maybe (if you the video and sounds are not synchronized)
      No
      No
      No
      No

Only enable the awful graphic filters if you hate 2D sprite-based graphics. Applying filters to sprite based games is comparable to vomiting on a beautiful painting and then wiping it off with your hands. Some people hate pixels so much that they rather play with vomit outlines than with the original sprite art.

If you find that your games look blurry, like a nightclub floor after spring break, then you probably have one of the filters enabled.

I have a 128 MB ATI RADEON 300X Video Card and a Sound Blaster Live! 24-Bit Sound Card with Dell 2.1 Speakers with Subwoofer:

        * Should the memory pool settings be set to "Video" or "System"?
        * Also for the NES emulator, for the video options, in the display category, should it be set to "16 bit" or "32 bit"?
        * Should I enable Bilinear Interpolation?
        * And do you recommend "Standard", "NTSC", "ScaleX", "Hqx", or "2xSAi"?
        * I set my resolution for my emulators to my resolution that my windows display runs in which is "1024x768" or should i leave the emulator's default setting of "640x480"?
        * Do you recommend "Simulating Surround Sound" for the emulator?
        * Should I use "Primary Buffer" for emulator sound settings?

Thank you for your time in answering these NES/SNES emulator setting questions

I assume you know these are old ass systems with emulators that run on any piece of crap computer right?

          1) Default. Don't worry about stuff like that. It doesn't matter what memory pool you choose.
          2) Default. Don't worry about stuff like that. NES has 8 bit graphics, why would you put 16 bit or even 32 bit?
          3) Default. Don't worry about stuff like that.
          4) Default if it's not "Standard", as in, no fucking filters. Unless you like vomit.
          5) Default. Don't worry about stuff like that. You can put the emulator in 1080p if you want, it won't make a difference. Unless you have a 50 inch monitor or something.
          6) Default, unless you want bleeps and bloops banging your head while playing.
          7) Default. Don't worry about stuff like that.
