  • PS2: LAN ICS off Wifi PC

Is it possible to connect a ps2 to a pc via a crossover cable and ICS off it's WiFi connection? everytime I try it, I get a connection between my PC & PS2 but it kicks me off the WiFi connection until I reset the PS2 then the WiFi connection comes back.

    My settings are

    Wireless Router:
    IP: 192.168.0.1
    Gateway: 192.168.0.1

    PC WiFi:
    IP: 192.168.0.2
    Gateway: 192.168.0.1

    PC LAN:
    IP: 192.168.0.3
    Gateway: 192.168.0.2

    PS2
    IP: 192.168.0.10
    Gateway: 192.168.0.3

Glad to hear you got it working.

I don't know much of networking, but figured I would mention this:
Another way to get the PS2 on a wireless connection is a ECB (Ethernet Client Bridge).

It's basically a Cat-5 cable on one end and a wireless card on the other.

I might think about getting one of those I don't like having my pc on all the time just to play online, is this known to be compatible with the ps2 though?, is it confirmed anywhere by others?

Heh, my PC stays on 24/7, for years now...

I personally have one of these and it indeed works with the PS2.
BUT, the card I have is wireless B instead of G, and it lags while streaming AVI's with SMS (I haven't used it since).

I have a G network atm runs at 54 Mbits at about 70% getting roughly 1.5 Mbits for file transfers between the networked pc's.
Incoming Internet connection is around 600kbps using the 5 Mbits divided by 8 rule.
