  • Softly as I leave you...

The old song sung by Frank Sinatra still rings true. ...Softly as I leave you....or my heart will break...if you should wake and see me go. And so...at a rather late hour on this Saturday night...I have decided after much thought on retiring for good. It has been a blast. I wish to thank Lazy and LMZ for the generosity in hosting my code pages. I will appreciate they remain hosted as long as possible while GSHI is around, and in which I hope is forever.

I wish to thank Para for also hosting my code pages on Kodewerx. I wish to thank GBAtemp for taking me in during my last months as being active...I really enjoyed that collaboration on Professor Layton Unwound Future. I will not be hacking the next Harry Potter Hallows game for NDS and hope that GBAtemp will take up that task for me.

There are so many people who have touched my life in many ways that it is never enough to just say thank you...and yet...I hope they know I mean the words THANK YOU for the bottom of my heart.

So to just name a few people... Lazy, LMZ, Para, Viper, Crocc, Subdrag, Stinky, ShadowKnight, PoliceNYPD, Jman, CodeMaster, Codeboy, FNG, Helder, elixirdream, Zeld, Keeper....and everyone else at GSHI, Kodewerx, GBAtemp, the old GSC, Codejunkies, the old Gameshark site....and again Para...who got me started in this biz in the first place and who trusted me to keep the flame burning with the old Hacking Text. THANK YOU again and God Bless you all. I will never forget the glory days of N64 when we ruled the world. Farewell. Ciao. macrox

It's sad to see you go...GSHI will remain here forever, and so will your work. I hope you'll still drop in from time to time.

Whenever one of the greats leaves, it reminds me of my own hacking 'mortality', as one day I'll leave, for good. I can only hope my legacy is as great, in some way, as that of macrox.

And, *ahem*...it was the glory days of PSX when we ruled the world...heh.

It was an honor to have you here, mac. The place will be a little bit quieter, and a little less 'ancient' without you...go tear into real life with the same fervor that you did all those games
    I may be lazy, but I can...zzzZZZzzzZZZzzzZZZ...

Well, best of luck for you in your real life projects.
I personally can't stop hacking codes, its a hobby for me, so I do it from time to time.
You can do the same , and when you have any spare free time you can hack some codes again ^^.
Completely leaving the scene its not necessary, you will not move out to another planet, dont' you .

Always hate to hear that one of the greats are leaving!

I see that you helped write on the 'GameShark Bible', and I thank you for that.
If the great hackers leave without spreading their knowledge, the scene is sure to die out...

Macrox, I didn't know you but knew you wrote on Daniel's aka "Ugetab" thread after he passed. Thanks for your warm words. I only wish you the best in your future endeavors. You work will live on.

            Dear Madam,

Thank you for your kind words too. You will find if you search the code files that your son was in on some of my game hacks. I don't always remember what I should...but I do cherish and I am grateful for all the help other coders have given to the art and to me over the years. My memory tends to get a little fuzzy now and then as my handle of being an ancient sage is actually true...aka....I really am that old...

Not to divert this thread to its intended purpose and surely not to detract from the thread that honor's your son's memory....but I do wish you to know....that I, as a parent share your grief and cannot even begin to truly imagine your sorrow. I do want to say one more time how very sorrow I am for your loss.

            Best regards and prayers.

It's sad to hear someone leave us, but we cannot change it, to live and enjoy life is the only thing we can do.
