TERRIBLE, so sad...I'm sure he had lotsa family& friends who are deeply afflicted as you are. I corresponded with him quite often, hardta believe he's gone.

I suggest we make some sorta internet memorial for him, for us who knew him only by his handle "Ugetab" on these boards. I learned something about his genius, zest for life, & personality thru our correspondence here.

This is "Ugetabs" mom by the name, thank you all for your kind words. The computer was a huge part of his life. He was very much the same in real life as he was here. I miss him more than you can imagine. But he achieved a great deal in his short life. I'm still in shock as his Mother that hes gone. I am making a scrapbook . He would have been an Uncle for the first time this year. I want his Nephew to know who he was. I will print all this off and add it to the scrapbook. Thanks again.

I can only imagine your sorrow as I have not lost a child or grandchild. Know that my prayers & condolences go out for you & yours. Your son befriended this ole man(I am age 62) on the Internet; we shared jokes & a few personals as well as videogame stuff, and I only wish I had met him in person.

Nothing I can say will ease the pain, so I'm gonna shut up and simply pray that GOD comfort you & the rest of his family & friends...

I will reveal what happened to him when the autopsy report comes back. As far as "Rune" goes, what comes around goes around. It will come back and bite him in the ars. The pain of his dead is very real and very traumatic at times for me. We were very close as Mother and Son. I miss him so very much. Its still early for me to come to terms with him dying and me continuing to live on without him in my life. When I find out what the autopsy reveals I'll post it or let someone know here to they can tell what happened to him.

just wanted to come by and pay my respects. i heard the sad news over on the hcs64 boards, where he was pretty active. i always appreciated the time and effort he dedicated to music ripping, being one of the few people with both the technical know-how and the willingness to do it. i regret not saying as much to him sooner, as he even did some rips at my suggestion. yeah, it's crap, he was cool and too young. i'll miss seeing him around. my regards to his family and friends. dunno what else to say. RIP.

Indeed Rune is insensitive. He royaly ticked Ugetab off somehow and it was never fully explained what happened. there are a few people here who are disgusted by Rune's actions. it is horrible that even after this long period of time that Rune cannot let go and continues to fan a fire that should have died out. Just like a burning ciggettte/joint can cause the largest wildfire in california if it doesnt keep getting fanned it sould go out. Rune is acting like the what we call Santa Anna winds out here. Dry Hot miserable winds that are known for fanning fires.

As for Phil's suggestion i am all for a online memorial. Also i belive there should be a page on the wiki as well to let people know about the code creators who have impacted the community.

I know "Ugetab" was truly appreciated here and it brings me inter joy to know that. I'm sure he felt appreciated knowing his codes would be put to good use . He had the drive and the tenacity to figure things out on his own. You all are a very nice group of people .Thank you!!!

Wow, this is shocking. I'm somewhat acquainted with ugetab thanks to his Game Boy soundtrack rips, one of which was of a game that I'd specifically requested (an obscure unlicensed fighter titled "Soul Falchion", for the curious).

To Daniel's mom,

I hope you don't mind that I use his given name, here. I believe he deserves the recognition. I want to start by saying thank you, on behalf of everyone here, for raising your son to be such a compassionate and giving person. He was certainly intelligent and talented, but it was his very nature of giving that made him stand out above the crowd.

I know we're just a little "online community" who share a common interest in a hobby, but most of us are adults and many have our own families. We do grieve and mourn for your loss, he was also one of our own. My hope is that you and your family can find comfort knowing that Daniel has made a positive impact on each and every one of us.

I'm going to leave the topic of "Rune" alone one this one. With a single exception: James Woolley, aka Rune, is known as a problematic individual. He once claimed to suffer from Asperger's Syndrome, though that is no excuse whatsoever to say such vile and rash things. My suggestion, if I may, is to ignore him to the best of your ability.

Realize I'm late, but I just saw Para's post on Kodewerx about this.

It's bad enough that ugetab is gone, and that alone would probably upset me, but to see the audacity coming from Rune over the matter is sickening.
