    Geneon Brings Anime to PSP

Seems like they're kind of ripping people off a bit, at least as far as audio and video quality goes...

    Anime on PSP

hmmm well really, sorry to say this, but hell, all things mostly are ripp offs these days. I am not against the PSP...but really, will it 'make it'? Still far from yet to be seen really, yes everyone, all the kids are killing their parents wanting one now, but will it be anything in a little while really... not sure, some things, well ALOT of things bring it down.

DVD Movies on the thing... well yeah but these DVD movies ARE poorer quility then on a DVD itself. Point being...err what the hell, and why the hell waste money buying a movie on something where the battery dies before the movie is even done when you can buy the movie and watch it in your DVD player at better sound and picture? This is kinda funny, funny in wating and seeing how long it will take before people wake up and smell this dead horse shit.

Yes the PSP is good, hey some great games, but still, as is, these days you always need more of a gimic then games most times. The PSP is full of gimics, the games, the music you can download, the movies and all else, reminds me of a PC more or less after you download a shit load of mess and suddenly your PC gets all slow and finnaly explodes because there is so much crap overloaded on one things, makes me wonder how long before everyone who has PSP starts complaining because they blew it up downloading too much damn jiggle cats music to blast at the mall and such to make people look at them like they are retarded.

And last point really, nothing bad really against the PSP...but as I said, will it really make it? Some say yes, others say ehh let's wait and see, I say let's wait and see, as is the movies on it, BETTER and more space on a DVD (the movies on PSP miss the extras even.... ) But most of all last and most important point..... ehhh remember something a few years ago called the 'pocket station' from Sony that is and was meant to be a PlayStation in your pocket, and had that extra crap games, and little bitch mess you could 'add' to your games like in FF8 and such? Remeber that piece of shit that they said was going to also be the 'ultimate' and then had like a few games for it (a stupid ass duck 'chocobo' Square game based on and had connections with FF8) had that and that mess killed it, well was dead anyway, but hell looking at the FF8 guild, geez square really stepped into shit on this as well as did Sony and some of the gamming world, so not sure, but PSP could be the next shit pile from sony. Square is steping in it (again) with all it's planned games, as was with that pocket station and only ONE came out of the 8 they had planned, so again....will just have to see.

I am not against the thing, just well, live by that one saying, fool me once...ehh well you know, that saying is not fun nor funny, I like it better syaing it, I stepped in shit once and it smells, so I will watch where I step now. :P So now These days I watch what shit I step in, be it PSP or well now 'any new system'.

      Anime on PSP

Most of the reason I want a PSP, is I've got an idea of something useful to do with it... Of course, there's nothing stopping somebody else from doing what I came up with, but I doubt the idea has even occured yet.

Well, yeah, the main reason to buy the PSP seems to be based around the gimmicks and not the games. Cause I have not yet seen any games for it that have relaly captured my attention. Although having a portable anime would of been great back in the days when I really loved them. Maybe if it starts cranking out some real Metal Gear games rather than card games based on metal gear it will peak my interest. Although the thought of easeir emulation is good. I assume this thing gots emulators for it now.

There does seem to be emulators, but they all seem to require hacked bits of things to run... If they didn't, then psp linux would be more on it's way...

Well, I agree with you Hiro, on the 'games' section, as is, I admit, I did pick myself up a PSP, but game wise, nothing yet, not seen anything to really spark interests (specialy with NO true cheat device which makes it really a no no) I grabbed it for the movies myself (I love Resident Evil, and yeah you all may call me nuts, but I do believe in the true term of 'fan' which means fanatic' and that means you grab any and all things RE if you are a fan of RE weather they suck or not, and yeah alot does in fact suck...have to admit that but otherwise alot good, and really great also.)

So I have a PSP for movies, and Resident Evil: Apocalypse (yeah yeah I myself LOVE the movie, I think it is sweet and great, and got alot of mess on it, posters, standees, mylars and well anwyay) the PSP thing so far seems well hell faulty buttons (not mine, but I heard and saw) do not drop the thing, though the EGM mag flushed it down a toilet a few times and it still worked, gosh, the casing feels if it drops it will crack like an egg. and main thing that damn battery life. I mean geez, this thing can hardly handle a whole movie playing start to end.... which is a BIG pain in the ass for so damn much money.

I mean I bought it for the RE thing, and for summer trips and movies, myself, went on a recent church trip, and the thing died before we got there, which meant no fun after it died, and hell.... more battery buying once we got there for return trip. So this thing, though I admit I got one, not sure if it is 'all that' or just another piece of shit 'pocket station' Sony also said was the end all end all, if you all recall that back in 1998, and they sold like 3 of them maybe 4 and suddenly, 'killed the poject off' heh gosh I can still looking at the FF8 player's guild all the 'extra' about the pocket station link together mess... wow a little chocobo game where you have the chickin drop turds so you can watch it, what a bunch of BS...so in anycase....

So not sure yet, but as far as gimics, yeah the PSP has 'some' not as much as a DVD player nor DVDs, as is the movies is JUST the movie, no extras, nothing but the movie, again I am a RE collector, but if you are nto eyt still want the RE movies, err go buy the DVD, it is cheaper and ahs more, alot more. As far as games...well as you said Hiro, ehh nothing so far on it, so again not sure if this thing will 'be all that' like Sony says it is now.

Just goes to show you, you can pull on a duck's neck all you want, you still will not get a swan.

It's sonys answer to N-gage. Lotta hype, but nothing worth playing.

Sony really went overkill on the PSP hardware... The damn thing is slightly more powerful than ths PS2, and that's not even dead yet.

Damn, I thought my addiction to Lumines was real, but it can't be if what you're saying is true..
I've been hooked on the game ever since the launch of the PSP. It's a puzzle game, and I don't usually play those types but it's something to behold even for people like me.

I was hooked on Ridge Racers too, and played it every day until I beat all the circuits and unlocked "Max Tour".. I stopped 'coz Max Tour is where the cpu cars CHEAT THEIR ASSES OFF! You could easily drive right behind the last car until the end of the track, but if you try at all to pass it up, it suddenly gets a HUGE boost of speed and all the other cars soon follow. If you stay side by side with a car, you can see it being tugged along by an invisible force to keep up, until it gets a nitro boost.

Other than those two games though, I guess you could say there aren't any other good games out.. Yet it has only been 2 months or so, and I wouldn't want to play any game that only took two months to develop anyhow. :P
Gotta remember that a lot of companies were skeptical of the PSP, including Square-Enix which hadn't announced anything in development until a couple months before launch, 'coz they didn't know how it would do and if they'd lose money on it if it flopped.

The games I'm waiting anxiously for to release on PSP, are that Final Fantasy game, Daxter, and mostly Monster Hunter Portable. I beta tested for the original Monster Hunter, and I loved every stinkin' bit of it, so I can't wait for the portable version which will also be online.
But until one of those games come out, I'll still be stuck on Lumines, and my recently acquired ability to play Gunsmoke on my PSP. XD

I won't have the money for psp for a while, but I see myself picking one up eventually. It's selling well both in the US and in Japan, and there are some things I want coming out for it. I sure as hell want it more than a DS.

At the end of the day, RPGs decide what systems I buy.
