Will GS CDX 3.3 work for the swap disc trick?

I found somewhere (not sure of the website) that GS CDX could be used to launch Backups, but seeing as my version of GS CDX cannot use patch codes, i was wondering if i can use 3.3 to launch backups...

Yes, swap the disc after you tell it run the game whilst the original spins down if you listen to the sound of the drive it sounds the same as if you'd swapped the disc during the PlayStation logo use a spring to keep lid switch down so you can perform the swap.

Can the Gameshark Lite be used in a similar manner?

If you're juggling discs based off the sound, it doesn't matter what the first disc is other than that it will boot on the console.

I remember my friend had some kind of GS look alike that had some spring included with it and it then stopped and you swapped but it was the cart type and not the cd version/ Why don't you guys just get a mod chip they are like about $15 or less and doesn't take too much skill to install after a little practice on some old motherboard, shit I can give you guys instructions on it but there on many video's on youtube on soldering techniques and the psx/psone is very easy to solder to the points in comparison to the ps2 or the wii when it was the 28+ wire installs on super tiny legs.

I simply used my GS to input codes for the game I wanted to play (FF TActics!! w00t) and put an old, scratched up, need for speed disc in my CD drive (with the button held down with a tifoil loop, to allow me to handle the open/close lid instructions without getting frustrated) and simpply waited for the NFS disc to go to 2x speed and put in my burned game. but with a game that comes up with a message "software terminated" i follow the same steps except I remove the backup when the "sony computer entertainment america" logo comes up, and replaced it with the NFS disc, wait for it to speed up and slow down again, and put in the backup for the last time...

I just realized how far i've come from since my first post on this site... I can understand Hex to Decimal, most code types for GS and amazingly, found a way to fix my "Play with Sephiroth in party code"
