  • arktool v7.0

Hello everyone, i've been looking for a program called arktool v7.0 and was wondering if anyone has heard of it or knows where it could be obtained.

Im not sure what this program does, but have recently seen others asking about or mentioning it for editing RockBand files, so of course im very curious and wanted to see for my own experience what it is all about.

    Thanks for any info .

Thanks, but that is the v6.1 and doesnt seem to work for RB2 ark files, so its why im looking for the v7.0, as that one is supposed to be updated for RB2.

I have RB2 and that why i wanted to check this app out to see if it can change the songs.

It was the only working link I could find, i'll have route around for v7.0 if you don't find it first.

Maybe they have it? it looks like a great ps2 hacking site but requires registration.
I currently trying to find out how you wipeout LBA tables on any console discs with the likes of Munge Explorer, IsoBuster FileList.txt, IML2ISO / Apache etc so I can mod any game with larger files.

From the looks of it this program was destroyed out of fear and rage. It may or may not still exist on a dodgy file host site currently down for maintenance (and scheduled to revive on the 6th). Even the older versions are rather uncommon. Only place I found with them is a nasty pit that demands people be registered and spam the forums every time they want to grab a file or two.

As far as changing songs, supposedly RB2 will accept stuff compatible with RB1 to some extent.

kh2k4: For what it sounds like you're wanting to do, if it's ps2 discs the easiest thing to do is completely rebuild the disc.

The problem is some games contain a lba table in main game ELF and other used files so you can't add larger files even if you rebuild the disc from scratch as it checks the file size and lba position of specific files, I need a way to wipe out the lba tables completely so I can add anything I want then there's the cdvd checks too.

http://psx-scene.com/forums/showpost...&postcount=162 - Only works if the files are exactly the same size as the originals.

I still haven't managed to convert Zombie Hunters 2 or ICO to a DVD i've only managed to get SpongeBob SquarePants - Revenge of The Flying Dutchman working.
2048 Bytes = 1 LBA position apparently and would be represented as 800 in hex in the ELF file.
Hopefully somebody here with proper knowledge can make a fail-proof guide with pictures :-)
I had to upload the files to megaupload the attachment uploader isn't working it keeps asking me to log back in.

I havent had a chance to try changing a song yet as those earlier programs only work on rb1 and guitar hero 1 and 2. But that would be cool if RB2 will accept songs made for RB1. My kid wants to change songs, so i said i'd give it a try. Someone on another forum is a programmer and said he'd look into the source files and see if he could do something (he also has an interest in finding v7.0) , so perhaps another app may emerge, so long as Harmonix dont give him a hard time about it too.

But thanks for looking around guys.

I must have been thinking of something else when I saw the term "LBA tables". Forgot about that rather evil thing some games have.

Logging in... It should work if you're logged in on gshi.org in specific rather than some other domains. There have been some odd issues with the others related to cookies. No fixes seem to quite solve the conflicts.
