I used to be fairly active in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, though I haven't even sparred with anyone in some time...we got to train with the Gracies when I was in Special Forces.
I haven't had the opportunity to explore Aikido, but I'd like to, if I stumble upon a decent teacher.
Wow! Brazilian JuJitsu! that's cool! Well Aikido is a world apart from other martial arts 'cause it's a "defensive style", but if u train and manage it well it could a pain in the ass for any aggressor!
I take Hapkido. Kind of the Korean equivalent. The school actually advertises both Aikido and Hapkido to the outside world, but it's exclusively Korean in practice. The only reference I've seen to a Japanese influence is a brief mention in the manual's history section.
Hi Pyriel! I've heard about hapkido, I thought it was a mixed Aikido with Karate style http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CDOGC5VAuws there is a lot of atemi waza that is much more prerogative ok karate styles,
then the kicks are surely taken from taekwondo...

Most of the striking is pure Tae Kwon Do, at least in my particular school. The back wall in the beginning of your video actually says, "Hapkido", on the left side, and, "Tae Kwon Do", on the right. It's not unusual for schools to teach both separately or simultaneously, depending on what the founders or instructors can claim mastery in.
Although, whatever other influences it may have incorporated, the overall art was supposed to have been developed after its founder studied an ancestor art of Aikido extensively in Japan. Apparently, there's some controversy over its actual history. That's a topic for better informed people than me to argue over, though.
