The Hacking Competition has begun!
I will be brief. The Hacking Competition will close at 11:59 PM, Central Time, on July 27th. Any operating system, and any emulator, can be used for the Hacking Competition. That said, we've included a decent Win32 emulator with hacking capabilities, which the hacker can optionally use. Here's the package: http://GSHI.org/HC.zip
Pasted from the Instructions file:

Welcome to the GSHI 10th Anniversary Hacking Contest.
We have provided all required ROMs and an emulator sufficient for hacking, but feel free to use whatever other tools are at your disposal (debuggers, disassemblers, other emulators, etc) to get the job done.
Rules:
1. Codes hacked must work for the ROMs provided.
2. Codes may be in ROM (Game Genie) or RAM (PAR) format.
3. Codes should be tested by the hacker prior to submission, for they are tested by GSHI staff, and must provide functionality, not just the illusion of functionality. For example, an Infinite Health code that merely makes the health meter remain full visually, but which does not stop your actual health from decreasing (hence you eventually die from damage accrued), will not be accepted. Likewise, a code that does not visually affect the health meter, but does functionally affect it (and will prevent you from dying due to accrued damage), will be accepted.
4. The person with the most points in the time allotted wins (if there is a tie, then the person who submitted codes first wins).
5. Codes submitted after the close of the competition will not be accepted.
6. All codes are sent to Lazy Bastard by Private Message on the GSHI.org forums.
7. If the winner does not wish to divulge an address or method of receiving any or all prizes, the prize(s) will then go to the second place winner, and so on if necessary.
The point system and specific codes to be hacked are below. Happy hacking!

The Artwork Contest has come to a close, and JNABK is the winner! He will net a $75 gift certificate to EB Games, a 4-pack of Gamer Grub, a GSHI t-shirt, and his logo on next year's GSHI t-shirt. Congrats to him (we'll also likely be using some of his work on the GSHI site). Here's his submission for the t-shirt logo:

Remember, the Hacking Contest ends tomorrow (July 27) at 11:59PM Central Time. Keep hacking.I may be lazy, but I can...zzzZZZzzzZZZzzzZZZ...

There is an interesting twist concerning the winner of this year's Hacking Competition.
Our own ugetab is the 1st place winner, having hacked all codes and received a perfect 30/30; however, he has elected to pass his prizes on to the next place winner. This would be nothing spectacular, except that there are two competitors tied for 2nd place, both with 28/30: Pugsy and Whipon.
This means there will be a final, tie-breaking event. We are currently scheming a small set of codes to be hacked, which will determine the effective winner. Stay tuned.I may be lazy, but I can...zzzZZZzzzZZZzzzZZZ...
