  • Rare Duke Nukem appearence

I was playing Captain Planet and the Planeteers for Genesis and one of the levels apparently have Duke Nukem in it.

I think I got to him but he's just guarding someone else, and he looks a little different.

hehe yes, I remember that Captain Planet cartoon alot, they show it now ever so often (not like each day but ehh ever so often on that Boomerang Cartoon Network 'old' cartoon channel. (Captain is not old really, hell an early 90's cartoon, but they slapped in on boomerang for some odd reason when they are not playing that pointless other 'shit') (On that right short, I say 'shit' well because, I like most all cartoons, but that channel force feeds us 'hanna barberra too damn much' yeah I know they OWN the cartoon network and all it's channels, but still, excuse me, but the jetsons, and flintstones are kinda just too stupid to me. Flintstones are okay but not after having the same shit run after years and years. 'jetsons' is just a stupid ass cartoon anyway in my book, so yeah they own those channels, but hell after awhile 'hannah barbera' is way too much seeing all 'their' shit day after day. Some of the mes sis Okay, I love the Smurfs such as Lazy does, and they show them abit, but just saying, the 'big stars' for hannah barbera is abit too much, and they never show their other stars alot anymore, it is all 'flintstones and jetsons'... where is well hell Top Cat and Josie and the PussyCats...all hannah barbera also, but that channel is really stuck in the rut of jetsons and flintstones too much and should really, do what they promis and show true classics and old cartoons I miss while I was growing up anyway. Hell no one shows She-Ra Princess Of power anymore, and I grew up on that mess, and love it. (So did Milla Jovovich heh us 'old' women we we were young and what cartoons we had that are 'real classics'.)

ummmm maybe my utter 'sickness' of jetsons and flintstones is and thanks to that first flinstones 'movie' errr that where 'rosie odonal however you spell the fat asses name, sorry ewww that just made me sick, Betty is supposed to be 'little' and well hell skinny, rosie is a fat ugly ass, geeez damn she is nasty looking, and most sad part of that all is she is LESBIAN which pisses me off because she and her fatness give us bi-sexual women and other lesbian women who look 'good' she gives us all a bad name being such a fat ass....ahh well the messed up world of real life out there geeez heh

Anyway back on the topic here, yes hehe though is is strange, back then in the 'early' days (early 90's not really early days, but heck will be called that soon, and I still call the 80's early days. :P ) Anyway back then was sorta 'strange' at how many names of characters were 'reused' alot in not only this but alot of things. I cannot recall any at the moment but I do know ALOT of anmes were reused alot...well speak of the devil, I just thought of one (they were MANY in the early to mid 90's now) Such as Ninja Gaiden story and games from techmo (an almost 'new' unknown game maker then) They had and made Ninja Gaiden and had Ryu, and his father was named 'Ken'. which well, sounds ALOT like Capcom Street Fighter series, 'Ryu and Ken' anyway. Not sure there is names reused, but kinda fishy I always thought, being well Ryu of StreetFighter came out in 1988 in the first SF and Ninja Gaiden came out in 1989 so if anything is there, Techmo 'copied' which could be possible, not saying they did, just well could be.

Heh I also recall back then everyone 'wanted' these cross over fighter games as soon as Street Fighter 2 and darkStalkers, and Mortal Kombat and King Of Fighters/Fatal Fury all came out. gosh all these dreams and wishes of players wanting a Mortal Kombat vs Street Fighter to come out, but everyone always said 'never' and yet all these years later, well we have at least 'some' of it in some way heh we have SNK and Capcom going at it a small bit. :P Gosh the good old days when we all had dreams and wishes for the future of games.... ehh anyway

On Captain Planet, Duke Nukem, I believe was and is that orange/green scary skinned guy in the hawaian shirt and bermuda shorts he was always 'radio active' had those scales things, and was green and orange when he got well 'overheated' I do believe that was duke nukem, as is cannot really recall, Captain Planet was a great cartoon, heh sorry, but heck I would watch it if they showed it normaly, but being not seen it in awhile...I do think that who nukem was some character like 'nucular radiated' type.

Gosh that cartoon came on when I was a senior in highschool and hehe okay laugh if you will, but I still watched it as I ate breakfast before I went to school in the mornings. Also it sticks in my mind more so because I was in World geography (spelling?) that where you learn all about 'land' and such and the shape of earth and all that environment mess. a 10 or 12th grade class I took it while I was a senior. Anyway I recall it more because our teacher had us 'watch' Captain Planet cartoons to 'learn' about how to make the world safe hehe. Gosh the good old days of 1993.... the school project was to watch cartoons and report on them heh, the teacher even made us watch cartoons during class while he, the teacher went to sleep. heh gahhh those good days, I do miss them and the TV of the time even.

heh sorry for typing so much (again) just blahhh got carried away in the days of old there abit, and other mess. :P

If you ask me, I think that Captain Planet had a wholesome appeal like the way Peanuts tv shows does. I watched it to (I can't remember any villians tho) and have no shame about it.

You are also right aobut them showing a bit too much Hanna barbara on Boomerang. For me, the only time I watch it regualarily is when I know Popeye is on. I don't konw, but I think The matrix sampled from it. Look at how strong popeye and the villian of the show is. They can knock eachother feet away with a single blow. They can knock em thru walls even. They got incredibly fast reflexes and an exaggeratef fighting style.

And ya. I agree with the casting for Flintstones the movie. Rosie o donnell wasn't a good choice. Betty was supposed to be the cute one (IMO) and Rosie was too chubby to pull that off. I have to hand it to the cast tho, they all did fine voice impersonations. It's too bad the people that made the movie didn't know when to quit, cause they made that sequal that noone watched.

Yes, you are right, I rather liked and enjoyed Captain Planet, hehe even while I was in high school even as said, heh our teacher 'made' us watch it and report on it, which was cool with me anyway.

As far as hannah barbarea, well they do own Cartoon Network, and Boomerang, so yes they would show their own mess alot, still kind of a shame they show too much of one thing and not enough of their other mess. The Flintsone cartoons are not all that bad really, just I have seen all of them, now on that channel each time I turn it there and that is on, I always even to this day can tell it is a rerun I seen a long time ago. (strange that would remain in my head, but it does.) I do not hate the Flinstone cartoon, just that well... too much of it really, I will say. Jetsons on the other hand, well heh sorry I hate that mess. :P

Some Flintstone cartoons, I'd really love to watch and see as a matter of fact. I like those Flintstone cartoons where Pebbles and Bam Bam are 'teen agers' not 'babies' and also that one Flinstone cartoon show with the 'Monsters' on it, sort of Hannah Barber'as rip off of the 'Adams Family and the Munsters' but in cartoon form, that show is pretty good and not seen a whole lot of those, so I like that show and the Pebbles and Bam Bam one. Again shame they show too much the normal 're runs' from the 70's Flinstones, and not those I said really.

As for the 'movie' of the Flintstones, well both of them, yeah sort of a shame the way they messed it all up there, I mean John Goodman is a great actor, and was great as Fred, Rick Moranis (spelling) was great as Barney even, and Wilma was good also, not sure the actress name, but she atleast did look good, I will say and had the voice and look of Wilma. But the whole Bettie thing id really is the only fault of the movie that made the movie suck. (and also that was said by not just me but alot of movie critis as well, Bettie is not 'rosie' they said it in a nicer way, but still, yeah most agree that rosie did kill that movie. (also sorry for my strong words, gosh I cannot stand 'rosie' in looks or otherwise, I hear and understand she is a real bitch anyway so I stand by my opinions on that at least.)

Plus on the second Flintstone movie, they 'fixxed' Betty at least, but by then heck no one cared anyway, as rosie again as she gets most the blame killed the first one anyway.

Yeah, as much as it always did seem like an afterschool special, Captain Planet was great.

It's kinda weird, they give all these kickass power rings to everyone, but when they remembered they need one more ring for that indian kid, they give him the most useless power ever.
They don't even need captain planet most of the time, the guy with the earth ring could freakin' bury all the enemies, and the girl with the water ring could flood that buried mass with enemies trapped inside.
Sure it'd be a little violent, but then it'd have a lesson as well; self-sufficiency.

Keep an eye out for subliminal messages in captain planet, I was passively watching an ep one day and my friend and I saw something totally inappropriate. :?

lol, though maybe it was just that one ep..
