He was never in as far as anybody has determined. Got arrested, pretty much admitted to having been what the FBI thought he was... And was sentenced. No evidence he was even fined or anything.

This didn't turn out as thorough as I'd hoped it'd be, but eh:
Added Richard Aplin's (One of the Game Genie Developers) Q&A.
Game Genie II pictures (This was never released):
http://gshi.org/images/snes_ggii/
Game Genie II Information:
1) turn codes on+off dynamically while playing (with the buttons on the GG2 or you could program 'soft keys' on the controllers
2) find your own codes (really sweet automatic system, you just played the game and pushed one of the buttons when you died
3) RAM and ROM based codes
4) stealth ROM codes ('cloaking' - the ability to make a ROM code only activate if a specific sequence of bus activity preceeded it - It made it possible to have a ROM cheat code that easily evaded almost any cartridge self-checksum routine)
5) slow down/pause games
6) the GG2 would actually pull your game scores out of the console RAM and store them in battery-backed memory for you - when you powered up the GG2 with a cart plugged in it recognized the game and showed you your high-score table, stored cheats, etc.
Questions were provided by: ugetab, LiquidManZero, Hybrid, and myself.

Really enjoyed the Richard Aplin interview. An interesting read.
In his "Everything2" message, he mentioned a Genesis Game Genie II. I wonder if any prototypes of that were built? It would be interesting to see how much one of the SNES GG II's would fetch on ebay. I know I would put in a bid.The Code Hut: http://codehut.gshi.org/
