  • The Spider Catcher

This product actually sounds pretty cool...

    http://www.spidercatcher.net/product.htm

It can be used to catch not only spiders, but just about any arthropod smaller than a tarantula (it can grab a hair, and still not harm a spider upon grabbing it).

sounds like a gimmick to me. Oh well. i just catch them alive in my hands and flush them down the tolite alive so that when they come out of the sewer (mutatedly large) they are still alive and can go on with life (unless they drowned which is unlikely because most spiders can hold their breath for a month)
Cant stand the 32 bit and above gaming.
Gamers for the return of 2d sprite filled games!

Hmm...I don't think most spiders can hold their (respective) breaths for a month. Were that the case, the spiders that live primarily under water wouldn't bring air bubbles down there with them; they'd just come up once a month for a breath or two.

(upon looking around the net a bit, it would seem that most spiders can survive a couple of days without fresh oxygen, provided they don't move much, and already had a full breath in their spiracles [little air sacs under their abdomens]. The spiracles of most spiders are too small for water to enter, so drowning is not an issue as much as simply lacking oxygen)

Anyway, I just think it's a novel invention if you have a desire or need to catch a quantity of small creatures, without worrying about the possibility of being bitten or stung (bees, scorpions, the more dangerous spiders, etc).
