  • What the hell is up with this version thing for the GBA devices

I asked this question on GSC a long time ago and got no response. It has been nagging me. Now i will make a formal request.

WILL SOME ONE EXPLAIN TO ME THE DIFFERENT VERSIONS OF CODES?

    For example

From what i understand there is a ARv1 code and a AR v3 code. What happened to v2? What makes v3 codes different from version 1? Are they backwards compatible. Please i need to know.

    Desperately

EDIT: OK! NOW I AM PISSED. i posted a code request because i could not find a GS code on BSfree for the GBA SP GS. It seems the code i want are under GBA v1 and 2. WTF is up with this bull SH!T?

For most part..its the code encryption that is different between versions of the AR. Like ARv1 doesn't have the same code encryption then ARv3. And yes with conversion back to raw format can codes be backwards compatible...

It was an effective attempt by the cheat device manufacturers to basically resell the same thing over and over. By simply changing the encryption method, they could get people to buy a new cheat device. It's similar to how Square-Enix and the movie industry keep obsessively remaking everything.
