How do you 'copy' a copied CD?

Well, first off, maybe not the best topic title, but ehh...what I mean is this, when I make a CD, from MP3s and such and 'burn' the CD the CD is all good in wav format then and all good, but when I put that CD in my PC and say like 'copy' a music file and move it to my HD I suddenly get this mess like "short cut is pointing to an unused location" as is it seems to copy a wav file only copies as a short cut and when out of my PC the file I copied will not work.

So please any idea how to make all that mess work? as in put a file 'back' on my PC? wav file format or whatever really, do not mind what file it is, just as long as can put it back on my HD space and such.

Not talking about really ripping music off either really, just my own MP3 files I ahve made into CDs and want back on my HD and such, please. The mess is strange as can a;ways copy disc over and over a million times, yet putting the files back on PC does not go too well.... :?

How do you 'copy' a copied CD?

You'd have to rip the cd to turn it back into mp3s. There's not really any way around that... What it's probably doing when you try to copy the tracks, is just copying the TRACK**.CDA files, which are only the info about where the track starts/ends on the disc.

ah ratz...strange how that mess is, and I know I sound like a broken record at times, but sorry to ask again, but how is the easy way, or well easiest way to 'rip' a CD then, please?

Strange ways of how a PC reads things really, I mean well make an audio CD (as all CD makers/writers) call it and then that CD can be all copied over and over again yet cannot be copied a music file from CD to HD, yet make it a 'Data' CD as most CD writers call that also, and it remains MP3 or wav files and can be moved to your HD no problem, just strange at how what works and what does not work with PCs.... The stuborness of a PC being well, a PC really.

And then that otehr strange mess of the whole XBox mess...as is yes made by 'Microsoft' and is a basic PC/game system love child, but you pop in a music CD in that and it copies the music to the XBox HD...well all that mess about these type of company CDRs do not work and all that mess around the mess but not talking that, just strange how that machine a love child of PC and game console can copy music back to itself when a PC itself unless 'ripped' cannot...just strange oddities of how the world works really.

i know what you mean amy i had the same problem a long time ago when i tryed to do that but follow this link here and you will be able to do everything you want with your music,and its free!!!

How do you 'copy' a copied CD?

Can't you just click "Rip" on Windows Media player? It will be converted to windows media format, but if you have a plugin it will be converted to mp3's instead.
