  • Code hacking poll

I just want to see what some people think about emulator hacking vs. psx or n64 connected to pc with programs.

Generally, I've found doing simple stuff is much faster with the real hardware. Complicated things however usually are impossible or extremely time consuming that way. Hacking with an emulator can also allow access to debuggers and other useful tools that are difficult to obtain for a real system.

Agreed; hacking emulated systems is much easier when it comes to anything complicated. That, and there's a lot more room for something customized. However, for simple stuff, it's optimal to hack for the console/system, on the console/system.

With speed up and save states it's a Hell of a lot easier.

Its easier with emulators..but with some cases codes might not work on the real thing compared to being tested on a emulator...I see that allot with gb(c) and gba hacking in the past..you have that chance with other systems as well...
