The reason various forms of entertainment are being blamed for violence, is they just want something to blame. They have to point a finger somewhere, and they figure Grand Theft Auto, Marilyn Manson and the like are good targets, because they're already catching a lot of controversy. But then, music has long been a target for people's hate...

VGs helped my kids learn to count & to read. I now play stuff like COD4 on 360 as well as older games. Fun to go around killin' shit w/o getting into trouble, & fun to get whacked & to simply respawn. Lets us old pricks blow off steam w/o having a stroke.
Also fun as hell teaching another generation about retrogames. Sometimes that's all some of'em can afford, but what the hell...there are hundreds of very entertaining older games around. (And BTW, I'm still a pinball wizard! )I come from a smart family...In the Civil War, my great-grandpa fought for the WEST.

lol; you're awesome.Lets us old pricks blow off steam w/o having a stroke.
Hell yeah; there are way more good old games than good new ones...even if some of the new ones are great, you can't compete with good gameplay or storyline with graphics and sound alone.
Video games are teaching the little one here to read and do math as well (well, we're helping, too), and also help work on memory and such (if you want to progress to the next level, you've got to solve this puzzle, or remember a button sequence).I may be lazy, but I can...zzzZZZzzzZZZzzzZZZ...
